No Fixed Abode It is obvious to anyone that you would at least sell over 5,000 tickets.

Everyone has 20:20 hindsight, Kes.

No hindsight required...just a little bit of common-sense and a feel for the likely demand for this match.

No Fixed Abode LOLaughabLOLe!!

In all seriousness - as fans - you should boycott the game. But you won't. The 2,800 will sell, you'll get dumped out of the cup and that will be that and Reading FC will keep quiet on the matter.

Certain people at the club should be getting fired for this. It is obvious to anyone that you would at least sell over 5,000 tickets. How the club could not forsee this is a shambles of the highest order. A massive chance for you to get in the Semi-Final of the FA Cup and the club makes the biggest balls up I've known for such a major event in Readings history.

Boycotting the team doesn't exactly boost morale & give us the best possible chance of getting to Wembley though does it? They need us in full voice cheering them on.

I do agree with the sentiment though its a bloody disgrace - don't remember the club fcuking up so badly for such an important game. I hope we can get a replay so that people who missed out get another chance.

As mentioned before, I just question the persons knowledge of RFC that made this decision? Either that or they were extremely drunk at the time.

If a STAR rep is reading this thread can they please try to encourage the club to have some kind of process where STAR helps them decide the ticket demand levels in future?

Anyone with half a brain would know that a weekend game which may get us to Wembley for the first time in 15 bloody years will sell over 3k tickets. Even more so when offering free travel!!!

The situation is absurd & should never be allowed to happen again.

That was NOT KNOWN at the time at which the decision had to be taken.

Proper ties are always weekend fixtures so yes they would have.

Can't be bothered to start a new thread but what about predictions for day and time of all tickets sold??

I'll go for 11.10am on Tuesday.

So they would have known that more people would want tickets surely?

They would only need to look at the gates for the Villa qtr final last year to see it was way up on a normal league game. This is game is huge - if they had checked historically how many people we'd taken to old trafford for the cup, or indeed the various play-off semi games, they SHOULD have known 2800 was nowhere near enough to satisfy demand.

Might even be earlier than that bearing in mind sales open for 600-1599 at midnight. If people have read the website & can book online, cant see them waiting til 9am to do it via phone.

I'll be staggered if it takes that long.

If anyone at RFC has any sense they won't post the headline ' Cup tickets sold out in 1 day '

Royal Lady Craig Mortimer should be sacked. Pious little whatsit that he is. His comments on BBCRB were a disgrace - cos he was frightened of telling the truth and the backlash that will occur as a result of it.

Agree entirely. BBCRB should demand he does an interview with them and explains why he covered up the truth when he already knew damn well what the situation was.

He's a spineless git who makes Mandelson and co look open and honest!

For anyone who would like to tell him a few home truths should they bump into him, this is what he looks like:

Craig doesn't have anything to do with the ticket allocations though, and if indeed he already knew the club had cocked up, unconfirmed at that point, I don't blame him for not wanting to take the brunt of the abuse.

You've only got to look at their statement to see that they already knew.

As for him not wanting to take the abuse, what's he damn well paid for? He's the Head of Communications for f*cks sake!!

leicsRoyal This thread is going to go into complete overload if City open up the top tiers in the next couple of days which is being strongly hinted at on their blue moon forum. http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewt ... 1&t=210451

Surely if they can open the top tier for home fans, they could open some of the top tier for away fans??? :?

This thread has had more than twice the number of views as we have got tickets for the game, good work everyone.

Seeing as I appear to have very little chance of getting tickets for this game (423 points), I have emailed the club to request a definitive answer on the chance of the allocation being raised, and the possibility of them updating the website regularly on how many tickets are left (to save everyone queueing around the block for non-existent tickets). I will post any answer here if one is forthcoming.

Nice one Christof,

I emailed the club at lunch time yesterday with regard to the allocation and within a couple of hours the web site was updated with a new statement.

Would be good to keep a track on the tickets, thanks.
