Hit the nail on the head. I've posted negative comments on their facebook updates which they have deleted because they can't stand the truth that we're a bit shit.

Their marketing is aimed @ over excited 14 yr old mong fans

Shambles

Becaue that's where the money is, in the family audience. The assumption is that "traditional" supporters - the ones who create what atmosphere there is - will carry on coming regardless. Big assumption!

Spot on.

I had a comment deleted off Facebook yesterday after I made a joke on a picture on Manset with a scarf over his face.

It was a bit racist thought so fair enough really.

Bearing in mind I am absolutely certain that our next divisional move will be downwards rather than upwards, I'd suggest that the families will be conspicuous by their absence on a cold midweek vs Oldham in front of 6,000.

God...I really don't want to go back to those days. Nightmares of Stuart Barlow for wigan terrorising us on cold tuesday nights. The traditional madejski goal scored by the opposition would be a looping cross to the back post where some lump like simon haworth would outmuscle our full back with a solid push then nod down into the far corner, or a mis hit snapshot phil whitehead would get a hand to and you'd all watch in agony as it rolled out to the opposing player who tapped home the equaliser afer being dominated the majority of the game to send the 150 away fans into raptures. The whole atmosphere was just shite...you could literally hear the smell of the pie's and bovril from the concorse spilling out into the seated enclosure and you could literally hear every baby crying in the ground such was the hollow echoe. The pitch was always chopped up and useless and the opposition tactics were always the same....nice new ground out there boys lets hold out for the point. Not a single fu c k given about keeping the ball on the deck at a high tempo. Kids for a quid, LDV vans trophy where they paid you to come rather than charged and the worst refereeing standard imaginable - makes me laugh people complain so much today, they don't know where they are born.

Please god...don't let us return back there.

Seriously are people surprised that the club removes negative comments from it's publicity machine and makes sure there aren't any potentially negative public relations issues from someone using the mascot's name, something they probably have copyrighted if they've got half a brain?

Crikey anyone getting wound up about that is massively spoilt and naive.

What do you expect them to do, print a scathing critque of Nigel Howe from a supporter in the matchday programme?

I wonder if the royal family will ban "@dianainheaven", or any of the other people who OBVIOUSLY pretend to be someone else on twitter will receive the same treatment.

RFC are wayyyy too up themselves I'm afraid. Who is going to complain about Kingsley Royal - it's so obvious it's not him - even I sussed it out immediately

BTW I managed to swan past the stewards last home game, WITH A HANDBAG. Take that RFC. 8)

There is a risk that any crebility is lost if there is always a relentlessly positive message, even in difficult times. The more objectivity and realism there is in a message the more peopel will take it seriously.

It's there to promote the club, get used to it, because its the result of using social media. You aren't going to get any impartial objectivity and they are going to play to the gallery.

Ignore it if you don't like it. You don't have to see anything they put up on twitter / facebook / whatever.

it's mostly positive but then that's the job of any business trying to promote it's product isn't it?

Coke aren't going to put out a tweet saying 'Sorry this new diet coke we've put out isn't the best, Pepsi's probably stronger this year'

Deary me, if you pay enough money to the club each year you're entitled to your views

The club tweet bit massively to my tweet tonight. Tempted to take up the invite of emailing them and expressing my views on the nonsense they posted on the website about how they had to sell BOTH Long and Mills to balance the books.

Jimmy is in the canteen having scrambled eggs, waiting for right time to have banter with him about scoring a header

Maybe you should tell him to sign a new contract or leave the club.
