This year I will not be celebrating Christmas unless the club host a festive lunch on Christmas Eve.

I assume it was also missed by the Ref then (just another thing to add to his list of misdemeanors for the day), or do you think he asked someone at the club if it was happening and they said "nah, not this year mate."?

Jerry St Clair b) listed the names of RFC players who've died in service in the programme, on the scoreboard or both.

Found this on The Cube's excellent site:

It is known that many of the Reading players went to fight for their country in the War. Joe Bailey became a decorated war hero, gaining the Military Cross and Bar, as well as the Distinguished Service Order. Alan Foster and Joe Dickenson should also be remembered as heroes after they were killed in action.

And Middlesbrough have developed a brick road as a tribute to their players killed in action.

The Ayresome Park gates over the brick road outside the Riverside is a really lovely detail. Adds a bit of class to a very dour stadium.

It’s a shame that RFC didn’t keep the Southbank toilets. The urinal piping would have been perfect for securing bouquets and wreaths.

Royal Lady They let the Army sell poppies on Saturday - so that's ok then.

Ironic really, seeing as the army is trying to stop the sale of poppies in Afghanistan...

I'm no expert in these matters but I suspect if the domain was right then it would have got in the RFC system and ended up in some kind of holding bin which may or may not get checked - if the domain had been wrong it would just have bounced right back as there was nowhere to deliver it to. It may still get bounced, not sure whether an undelivered mail would trigger a non delivery message after a couple of weeks.

But the address on the club site doesn't have the '.' in it so (at the risk of being labelled an apologist) it might be fair to say you can't expect a reply to an email if it is sent to the wrong address !!

you are absolutley correct i have provided the wrong address and that we should not expect a reply from it

i will send my email again to the correct address

i would, however, have expected either a non delivery report

All this fuss over nothing really. Did YOU pay your respects on Sunday at 11am? I did. Did you on Monday? I did.
My work didn't. I walked off to the toilet and stood silent for a minute, just gathered my thoughts. And this is the civil service! How crap is that!

I bet HNA? had it's fair share of people still tapping away at their keyboards when they could have been stood silent instead, and they'll be here whining about the football club.

Well done Jay, you totally miss the point, there would have been no minutes silence on Monday as it was the wrong date. 11/11 is Armistice, so tuesday, and many work places will have observed it.
