But the club will look at it as only a couple of people disappointed in not getting a ticket...rather than being left with over 1000 tickets they couldn't shift...

If demand was so great! how come there are still 1000 tickets left...

Can't wait for the EP front page story with the standard 'look gutted face and point towards the Mad Stad' and the 'I've been let down!!!' comment..

Because you need to be (a) interested in going and (b) in possession of 1600 Royalty points to buy today.

Midnight. Fastest finger wins...

Yes, I'd say the majority of people with between 600 and 1599 points want to go the match.

At least I'm young and awake enough to enter the midnight raffle.

How about the
- Elderly who need to sleep from 6pm
- Poor who have no internet access
- People who have to work night shift

Turns8 - do you work for the football club or something? You seem to have similar intelligence as those making the ticketing decisions.

Whether it is due to a few people posting on here or not, personally I think not.

Surely it would have been better to cater for the masses rather than the minority. Nobody was expecting free coach travel, so wouldn't have been missed. Although ironically it will be the same minority ( able to get tickets ) that have been catered for.

The potential coach travel will probably equate to roughly the same amount as another 2,500 tickets which everybody was expecting so is now going to be missed.

Just a very weird decision for a business that relies heavily on volume of customers.

Just heard from ticket office - 2,700 sold. They recommend no one bothers trying to buy at midnight.

Is that really that difficult to understand?? Do you work for the club or am I missing the sarcasm, in which case feel free to whoosh me!

The reason they are still left if that the overwhelming majority of disappointed fans will fall in the next 600-1599 points band. Not only that but as some on here have already pointed out, they do have 1600 points but are holding off until tomorrow so they can try to buy tickets with their friends and family who are in the next band.

Finally, if they felt there was a risk associated with the cost of any unsold tickets, then that was what they should have put their money behind. Tickets for the masses of loyal fans, not coach travel for a relative few (albeit the most loyal).

That could still have been spun as a real positive action by the club.

e.g.

We wanted to reward as many of loyal fans as possible by ensuring they had the maximum possible opportunity of buying tickets for this game. We therefore have committed to selling 5,000 (or more) tickets to our own supporters. If these fail to sell, RFC will have to cover the full cost of the shortfall. However, we are prepared to cover that cost if needs be in order to ensure that as many tickets are for sale to our supporters as possible.
