somersetroyal It will be on, newcastle looks dry from Tuesday onwards, with possibly a little light snow on Friday, nothing to worry about the game will be on , looking forward to a good drink and 3pts

What they call light snow is what we call an avalanche tbh

I think they describe it as T-shirt weather...

Anyway, the ever-informative Football Ground Guide mentions the Bodega and Newcastle Arms which last time I was there were both spot on for a few ales pre and post-match. The Newcastle Arms is also about 1 min walk from their China Town, so lots of all-you-can-eat MSG loveliness to make you thirsty for more beer.

Sam Jacks is easily good enough pre match.

BBC Weather forecast now showing a heavy snow shower overnight Friday to Saturday then light snow persisting through Saturday.
Temperatures 0 to 2 degrees C.

I'm not very confident of this going ahead ...

Here's a thought. Newcastle obviously dont want to play us at the moment as we have a good chance of taking 3 points. So, bit of snow, light dusting of snow, low temps and hey presto ground staff forget to turn the undersoil heating on .....I do hope not as I have a flight and a hotel for 2 nights booked but don't say I didn't warn you.

Newcastle will do anything they can to get this game postponed.

BBC Forecast saying light snow and 1degrees C Friday into Saturday.

Saturday day is just cloudy and 1degreesC.

Sure it'll be fine.

I'm not worried about the match itself - just the getting there. With a band of snow expected to cross the UK from East to West on Friday it might be a dodgy trip up on Saturday morning.

What time are people driving up on saturday morning planning on leaving? Did the journey not too long ago but i'm sure this time round it will take significantly longer.

PS to all those screaming the game will be off because they didn't want to buy a ticket..... Newcastle very confident that the game on Saturday against #readingfc will go ahead

Yep - my nightmare scenario is the game happening but not being able to get to it because of snow further south and through the Midlands.
