USA_Loyal_Royal so how is this new financial fair play going to affect our club? from what i understand, you can only spend up to 3m more in addition to the profits that the club makes in a transfer window starting in the 13-14 season. since reading doesnt make a profit, but minimal losses each season how much will be available for us to spend? AZ said something about 30m given to adkins and others say a more modest 10m is likely, will we be able to do this based on the new rules?
im probably misunderstanding part of this as i havent been able to read up on it very much, but to me it seems like this is going to give the larger clubs more of a stronghold and make smaller clubs less likely to compete.

Royal91 "Clubs relegated from the PL will not be subject to sanctions in their first season in the Championship as long as they have complied with all relevant PL regulations. The club would however be fined if it achieved promotion in its first season in the Championship whilst not complying with the FFP regulations".
This would mean AZ cannot pump loads of money in to get that desired promotion.
But because of the TV deals ect our parachute payments are larger this time around (In the first season of relegation), does that mean we technically have 'once chance' of pumping loads of money in to get promotion because the TV revenue means we can spend within our means.

Green I really do applaud all this and I've been championing for years, but my fear is that it's too little too late. Now football has become such a business it's so hard to stop it, and you'll probably get clubs suing UEFA for loss of earnings or anti competition laws or something if they try and impose that.

Green What exactly is a "persons test"?
If it's taken 12 years to get that in then we might as well all pack up and go home
