QPR Away

by gh7901 » 12 Dec 2008 13:00

I know its a while away, and no info will be released for some time yet, but just generally I wanted to know, are QPR still charging ridiculously high prices for away fans?

Its one of the few away games I can get to this season, and Ive never been there before, so I'm hoping its affordable

No. The ruling was that QPR can only charge away fans the pricing that they announced at the end of the season, unless the visiting team agrees to an increase in prices.

Reading (and all other CCC clubs) will not agree to an increase in prices from what was initially published, so I think it'll be £30 for adults.

(The ruling made means that although QPR can't increase ticket prices for away fans, they can for home fans! But I don't think they actually have).

Excellent, cheers Dirk

Probably should have paid more attention to the situation at the time

Still extortionate for a shite view where you can barely see one of the goals yet get chucked out for standing.

I was chatting to some Spurs fans at New Year Celebrations and was a bit shocked at the prices they were charged for their tickets. Apparently it costs them £60 for a ticket to a match and in order to get the tickets before they go on general release they pay £85 each per year for membership. This is compared to our maximum price of £25.50 and a £1 membership for life.

It made me wonder if watching premiership football was really worth it and how it could be justified. My friends only go to a couple of games a season.

IMO, it generally isnt.
Like your friends, if I supported a London prem team, I could only make a few games per season. £40-£50 is too much to scrape together for me every fortnight. I dont even think I could afford too many games next season *if* we go up, certainly couldnt afford a season ticket this time round if they went back to the previous price

At least in the CCC I can go to most home games, and even a few away games without each day becoming ridiculously expensive

Anymore news on when QPR tickets go on sale? The club is very slow at releasing ticket info. Useless in fact.

Calm down to a panic, my gr8 m8 - the game is over three weeks away and isn't even our next away game

I expect the ticket to go on sale on Monday 19th (although that may be earlier if QPR pull their finger out and send the tickets sooner.

Tickets for all three games currently on sale? If so, fair play.

Are you joining the masses at the The Loft on the 31st then?

I was intending to go for the beers (not to the game) and the tickets are for someone else. I have later discovered I wont be back from New York till the following day now. Thought I landed the day of the game and was intending going str8 to London.

OS now has ticket details

more interesting is a statement indicating that you must be at the ground thirty minutes before kick off to gain admission

http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/AwayGam ... 06,00.html

14:00 departure from walkabout shepherds bush

also for the non-shoppers the new Westfields shopping centre is in wood lane and has changed the dynamics of the area very dramatically since we last went to loftus road

I dont remember this rule being in place the last time we visited Loftus road, was it it place? What do you people think are the reasons behind this? I have never known it to be an issue before, i know most clubs advise you to be in your seat 30minutes before kick-off, but QPR seem to have taken it to a new level.

Maybe this has something to do with it?

http://www.footballgroundguide.com/queens_park_rangers/

"Richard Wilson, a visiting Birmingham City supporter adds; 'A word of advice for away fans. They are often very slow at the turnstiles at Loftus Road. I would seriously suggest arriving half an hour before kick off, or risk missing the start of the game'."

As many as you like, providing you have STs/Member cards with enough points - one ticket per card. No ticket without a card.

This 30 minute rule shouldn't be a problem for the majority of our day-tripping fans (a la Southampton away over Christmas).
