Sutekh England 2-1 Netherlands and will now play Germany or France in the final.

Carsley really should step up to the full England Job permanently…

Do wonder whether his going back to the U21s was always the plan, or whether that game where he fcuked around playing no centre-forward ultimately cost him.

Bloke ****** around with an idea in a game that didn't really matter, he's obviously got some idea and skill and actually wins things at a decent level so should be given the chance to step up if he wants (perhaps he doesn't want though as we've all seen the utter cr@p England managers get from the idiot media and idiot fans).

6ft Kerplunk U21s through the final.

I really enjoyed that game - the winning goal a pretty solid way to decide a game.

Three decent finishes, some first touch by Ohio spotting the keeper out of position and slotting it in from miles out to equalise.

England U21s 3-2 Germany U21s

Germany hit the crossbar twice, England's energy faded in the 2nd half, Harvey Elliott was Player of the Tournament, too much confetti after the trophy lift

So what happens to the players between playing for the u21s and then migrating to senior level?

When is the next u21 World Cup?

Don't give Infantino any more ideas!
No such thing - yet. Next Euro U21 tournament will be in 2 years time.
Excellent tournament from an English point of view. The first three games were a muddle, but once we got into the knock-out games it was obvious that Lee Carsley had used the Group games to figure out what he had within the squad and build a way of playing. The performance in the final was a triumph of patient coaching.
Talent-wise: many players had good tournaments, but one or two were consistently excellent: Livramento, Scott, Anderson, Elliott. The centre back pairing combined really well, Cresswell's aggression and ability to read the play, Quansah's Hansenesque talent on the ball.
Overall, considering the extent of the talent that was eligible for the tournament but not available, we at last have a depth which matches that of our major international rivals. Let's hope Tuchel is the tournament manager we have been lacking all these years.

It alternates, iirc.

World cups are U-20 and U-17
Euros are U-21, U-19 and U-17
olympics are nominally U-23 but don't happen every cycle.

Wow, that seems weird but probably makes sense when you think about it. Shame when England's u21s seem so good and win things.... :?

The other, related, bit to bear in mind is how poor England had been in these tournaments for a long time.

U-21s - pair of wins in the mid80s, followed by two losing semi-finals. Lita-inspired in 07 to a semi (ARF!), losing finalists to a very good Germany in 09. 2017, which I should remember more of.

U-20 world cup - never made the final before 2017.

U-19s Euros - won it in 2022 and 2017 but the last time before that was the Darren Caskey side of 1993.

Fair, while I think its clear from the post I meant 'historically', i.e. before this recent run of success, happy to edit.
