Which teams in FA cup final would you prefer

I heard on the radio a presenter (typical of the average armchair fan) saying something like. "Portsmouth vs Cardiff in the final then. Although who really wants to watch them? It's great for their fans but it's not really an exciting match is it".

It's pretty representative of the average fan and exactly why tv channels chose another boring premier league match, e.g. Aston Villa vs Manchester United instead of something juicy like Havant vs Liverpool.

Give me Portsmouth vs Cardiff any day of the week over Chelsea vs Man Utd snore fest. At least with pompey vs cardiff you have teams from different leagues, more chance of "real" fans following them, a historic event for both sides - not another final and going to wembley again.

Bit of a rant, and nothing really suprising. Looking forward to the final for the first time in years as it's something different.

Agreed. I like the upsets and was hoping Barnsley would make the final. I think the game will be good viewing. And will be rooting for Cardiff now that they are the underdog.

However, I'm expecting and want Portsmouth to win it - don't want the Welsh winning our cup, do we?

Both semi's were total oxf*rd, at least with teams from the upper reaches of the Premiership playing each other you might once in a while get a decent game (West Ham v Liverpool). I can see nothing other than a borefest Final as Pompey try and sit back and not throw the game away against a pretty average Cardiff side and it ending up 1-0 Pompey

Although I don't think it will be the greatest game. Portsmouth looked stretched at first against West brom but West Brom really didn't have the guile or the pace to really take advantage of this and eventually lost out.

There will be Cardiff and Pompey fans there who don't even have ST's. "Real fans" indeed - on the other hand, the only way a United fan would get a ticket is to have been to all the Cup Games and a few away games - ie they actually would be a "real fan"

Who said I was "quite happy" for it to be in the Millenium Stadium?

I read somewhere that Hereford had won the Welsh Cup but never was allowed into Europe through that route.

Agreed, 2/3's of the supporters there from a Premiership team would be ST holders and members of away schemes as well
