Winston Biscuit Caicedo reportedly on his way to Liverpool as he becomes the 4th most expensive footballer of all time

Them pulling out of pursuing Bellingham now looks a bit odd

It's a joke up there, after piddling about arguing pennies and dragging their feet on getting deals done they suddenly find the cash for Caicedo and yet they decided not to bid for Bellingham because, fans were told by FSG, that the club had to totally rebuild their midfield and the money was needed for several players. Wonder if it's a sop to try and placate fans as much to try and screw Chelsea over!

Latest on it is that it was tied up at midnight with Liverpool bidding £110m to Chelsea's £100m so now just a medical today and terms to be agreed. And despite all their piddling a midfield of Caicedo, Macallister and Szoboszlai is pretty intimidating. Add Andre to that and the 'pool might be on the verge of being able to knock City off their perch. Issue still though is squad depth, wonder if they'll remain interested in Lavia or whether he's destined to stay plodding around the second division now after Soton turned down Chelsea's £48m.

Andre deal still waiting in the wings to be done but Fluminese won't sell until end of August at the earliest due to Copa Libertadores participation.

They probably have his replacement ready to go - some kid they signed from South America 18 months ago. You'll barely see an impact

Re Caicedo vs. Bellingham, one essential difference in the transfers is the level of wages, bonuses, signing fees and agents fees associated with any Bellingham transfer that don't exist to the same extent with Caicedo.

It's a cracking signing - and totally hilarious that they have taken him from under Chelsea's nose.

Daniel Levy is taking the piss out of Harry Kane.

[Simon Stone] Is being underlined that Harry Kane has been given permission by Tottenham to fly to Germany.

Unconfirmed reports that a bald Geordie man was seen breaking Kane free and flying him out of the country.

I think its just as likely that Bellingham's agent made it clear he'd only consider moving to Liverpool if they were going to be in the Champion League and it was obvious from before xmas that they wouldn't be. Even if they had I reckon that the allure of going to Real Madrid would have trumped going to Liverpool.

There isn't a footballer on this planet worth even a tenth of that. Just shows how mad the game has become. I keep waiting/hoping for the bubble to burst but it never does, and with the Saudi's now sniffing around, LIV Football may make it all worse.

Got to say Chelsea were well and truly done by Liverpool. They get sneaky with Liverpool so Liverpool simply got their own back on Chelsea's target that they'd been piddling about with and take him in one shot! Shows what a second rate club Chelsea still are. Be even funnier if Liverpool decide to meet Soton's valuation on Lavia as well!

Jude Belligham "Money’s not a big thing for me. I don’t think about money when I make these kinds of decisions. I play for the love of the game. I loved the feeling I got from the club. I told them straight away what I felt about the club. It’s not the case that the other teams were bad or not good, but Real Madrid is the greatest. Of course, I’ve not just come here because of the size of the club, as it’s also the vision of the team. The ideas they presented were good, and it’s an opportunity that I thought I couldn’t turn down. The club also showed great respect to my family and didn’t try and manipulate them in any way. It was a seamless process. So I’m just so grateful.”

“I think I’d always been aware of the interest from English teams and so that was pretty normal, but it was a bit of a surprise when my dad sat me down and said there was interest from Real Madrid. I think that was maybe 12 or 15 months ago. When he said that, I had goosebumps. I then had a meeting where they came to my house, and I was sold. To be honest, I can’t really remember when that was. But yeah, that was the moment when, for me, it was definite. I have always been in admiration of the club, watching them win the Champions League. I was at the final when they beat Liverpool, and that was another huge factor. But yeah, there’s a load of things really that go into making a decision to join this club.”

“It was tough, with all of them wanting to see me come back to England and play for their teams, which I really appreciate. It might have been an easier option to go back to England, my native country, and live there and play there in the Premier League. But it’s just that I couldn’t turn down Real Madrid. I like the idea of being out of my comfort zone.”

According to the man himself, it wasn't about money, and Real was his only thought.

Obviously he said that at his press conference to Spanish journalists so it's up to people to believe him or not.

Ironically it was Chelsea that really started all this with their splurge last season. Enzo Fernandez somewhat set the 'going rate' for a young and world-class (or getting there) midfielder, and Chelsea's subsequent transfers reflected that fee.

You could argue that Caicedo is more 'worth' £110m, than Romeo Lavia is 'worth' £50m. It's insane.

As Sutekh notes, would be hilarious if Liverpool now sign Lavia too, but I can't see it.

Spurs' main ITK on Twitter claiming Kane deal is done and he will be on his way soon. £100m rising to £120m with add-ons.

That's a great price tbh for a 30 year old in his final year of his contract.

It is a great fee but who do they replace him with? Virtually irreplaceable in that side.
