Just goes to show how “not special” getting to Wembley is now.

It's been over 15 years, even with just finals, 2 guaranteed L2 teams, 2 guaranteed L1, 2 Champ, plus another 2 for L1 & 2 to share. Plus 4 for, mostly, PL sides.

That's something close to 200 opportunities for the 92 clubs.

Just to update on the Wembley games - six of the current 92 still haven't played at the new Wembley:

Premier League: none
Championship: Blackburn; Ipswich
League One: none
League Two: Accrington; Colchester; Crawley; Forest Green

Accrington and Crawley never played at the old Wembley either.

Only eleven of the current twenty-four in the National League have played at the new Wembley: Bromley; Chesterfield; Dagenham; Ebbsfleet; Fylde; Gateshead; Halifax; Kidderminster; Rochdale; Southend; York.

Hartlepool and Solihull both missed out on playing their first game at Wembley the past couple of years, with National League play-off finals being moved to Ashton Gate (in 2021 due to the Euros/Covid) and the Olympic Stadium (in 2022) respectively.
