Sanguine Twitter's 'DaveOCKOP', a pretty trusted source on all things Liverpool, reporting that Liverpool have made a contract offer to Kevin de Bruyne. Which is interesting. Obviously not the player of old, but an absolute no-brainer on a short-term deal.

Also rumours out there that Darwin is going to Athletico Madrid in part exchange for Julian Alvarez

This would be a huge transfer win for Liverpool - it's unlikely. There's something very Atletico about Nunez, he could score buckets there.

How often do part-exchange/swap deals happen?

Exactly

Not that often

Why would Atleti look to get rid of Alvarez? he has been one of their best players this season

Is he good? Goes under the radar a bit. Obviously has some Champions League highlight reels, not least his double in injury time against City a couple of years back.

They wouldn’t but like all players in Spain he has a release clause in his contract and has also, allegedly, been unsatisfied with Bilbao’s season. Bilbao are, supposedly, a big fan of Nunez so there could be legs in some sort of deal happening though I would be amazed if it did.

Not sure why he would leave Atletico Madrid because he's unsatisfied with Athletic Bilbao's season. Don't think Uruguay or Argentina are in the Basque region of Spain either.

Plays better off the left wing, but is forced to play on the right where he is less effective because of Vinicius and now Mbappe.

Rodrygo with an opportunity to be a starter and consistently play on the left hand side of an attack would be great for him and great business for Liverpool imo.

Oof.

Arne Slot on TAA: "He’s going to leave anyway so why not, it might be the first gift I can give Xabi Alonso… I wasn't completely happy with every single minute he was on training ground.

"In my opinion there were certain moments he could do more, to put it mildly. I told him he's a much better defender than people think, but you don't show it all the time."

Trent in tears on the parade bus - and Curtis Jones clearly having none of it.

I found the stuff on the pitch at the weekend a bit performative too. Guy isn't being kidknapped. He doesn't have to leave. He'll be shopping for a new house in Madrid next week, Jude will be showing him the sights.

Liverpool decidedly cold towards his departure - already replaced him with Frimpong, and Slot noting that his effort in training wasn't always all that. Club has moved on.

Too bust channelling his inner Steve McMahon and about to break into a bit of Anfield Rap by the looks of it.
