The dismantaling of Leverkusen begins - they'll fall back down to 5th or 6th next season.

Interested to see how Wirtz gets on at Bayerm (assuming thats where he goes). absolutely sensational player

Various reporting that he is on his way to City.

I had only ever heard of him being on his way to Bayern. When Muller was confirmed as leaving it was said at the time this was to free up room/money for Wirtz.

I hope he doesn't join City

Haaland, Wirtz and Marmoush would be a hell of a front 3.

Rumours circulating that Liverpool are also interested. But given FSG control the purse strings there think we can be fairly sure those rumours will stay airborne.

Xavi Simons could also be on his way to the Prem. Big fan, although he always looks like he's about to burst into tears.

Bournemouth have approved Real Madrid conditions for Dean Huijsen deal with £50m release clause to be paid by the end of 2026. Deal done club to club.

^Pretty unsurprising once it was known Real were interested. Shame to lose him from the PL, top class, excellent with the ball at his feet. Incredible trajectory in his career - he has played just 50 senior games, of which two for Spain.

In other unsurprising transfer news - Federico Chiesa set to return to Italy, to Napoli.

Watched a few games highlights and he’s lightning quick. Attacking wise sort of a cross between Blakey and Gilksey.

Be interesting to see how he is in a back 4 as opposed to the wing back system he's played under Xabi Alonso at Leverkusen.

Well, he's better defensively than TAA. He's played in a more traditional full back role previously.

He's also very good mates with Ryan Gravenberch.

Fabrizio says that Kerkez to Liverpool is only a matter of time. Could hardly find two more attacking 'backs' than Kerkez and Frimpong. Have to wonder if Slot's plan is a back three - in which case Liverpool need another top class CB - or if he sees Kerkez as more of an attacking player.

They are looking for at least 1 CB. Could be more given rumours of Quansah being sold too and Konate getting pushed out the door this summer if he doesn’t sign a new deal. Being linked with Guehi, Hato, Hincapie, amongst others, as replacements.

if Liverpool are going to have cash to spend and are looking for a new long term centre back they should throw money at Alessandro Bastoni. along with VVD he has probs been the best centre back in the world over the last 2 or 3 years.

We're at the stage now where teams are spending £100m+ on players I've never heard of

Would be an incredible signing if they can pull it off

You’ve never heard of Wirtz? I’m not up on many continental players but Wirtz is rather good. If Wirtz to Liverpool becomes a thing than I’ve heard they could get him for less than €100 as Leverkusen would rather sell to a club in the PL than to Bayern who’d they’d look for €100m+ from to do a deal.

Incidentally there’s still talk of Isak AND Alvarez to Liverpool as well  - don’t think there’s a cat in hell’s chance of that happening myself but, Jesus, that would be insanely scary for the rest of the PL if it did.
