Watched this in the pub cos a Man United supporting friend is going through a complicated divorce and wanted an excuse to get out the house for a few hours. Listening to her talking about how truly horrible her divorce was getting was light relief compared to the match.

Impressive 2nd half from Chelsea last night, although I did laugh when Jackson was through on goal and passed it to the ‘keeper. He’s not all bad but cannot EVER be given time to think.

Cole Palmer can be a bit up and down but he does some great things.

I liked that he then went down injured with what I think must have been deep embarrassment and had to go off.
Betis should really have had that match done by half time, I think a second first half goal would have done for Chelsea. Antony was pretty non-existent too, maybe he just can't play well against Premier League teams.

watched a bit of it. saw Jackson go down 'with a serious head injury' and the players get very worked up about the danger he was put in, only for the replay to show there was no contact with his head and he didn't even go down very hard either. embarrassing stuff. obv then LOL'd when he went through 1 on 1 and just passed the ball to the goalkeeper

TNT make it quite annoying to watch the allegedly free to air Champions League final, I activated my Discovery+ basic subscription associated with my Sky Sports, and it looks like I can now watch the final via the app, having avoided signing up to Discovery+ premium.

Why not just make TNT Sports 1 free to air for the match?

How does any team set themselves up against this PSG side? Skill, control of possession, pace and absolutely relentless energy and pressing.

I think the only answer is go back to agricultural unfashionable football. Accept your midfield won't get their foot on the ball, have a big target man and get players around him for the second ball. I don't think you can play "proper" football and beat them.

I know it's not a fairytale or underdog story, but he has a point. They got all the money then chased galaticos and big name signings for a decade. It's only after they've turned their back on it and focused on youth development and building a team that they've won, playing thrilling football along the way.

Like I said, it's not an underdog story. Players like Barcola, Doue and Joao Neves were expensive signings, but it's clearly more enjoyable than Madrid winning again via a string of last minute winners and Courtois MOTM performances in goal.

I normally prefer a competitive game, but tonight I simply enjoyed watching a team close to perfection.

I am by no means a PSG fan, but the current team was man- -for -man ( ok, apart from the Italian goalie) not very well known outside France, until they gave footballing lessons to Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal. It was a fantastic performance tonight, especially having seen how Inter got the better of, in the end, Barca. They offered nothing tonight.

One can only hope that the likes of Pep and Arteta watched that and came away with a new view of what is required to compete at the highest level because clearly doing what they've been doing is not going to be anywhere good enough for the next few years.

Signing Kvaritchelia (€60m) in January was the catalyst. Funnily enough Liverpool came closest to knocking them out after then but caught a bad dose of “Englandpenaltyshootoutitis”.
