The current bottom 6 of the Championship:

19 Blackburn Rovers 32 9 8 15 30 41 -11 35
20 West Bromwich Albion 32 9 7 16 32 47 -15 34
21 Portsmouth 30 8 9 13 27 39 -12 33
================================================
22 Leicester City 32 10 8 14 44 51 -7 32
23 Oxford United 32 6 10 16 28 44 -16 28
24 Sheffield Wednesday 32 1 8 23 19 64 -45 -7

Next Sunday will see Brammall Lane host the steel city derby. A home win will mathematically relegate Sheffield Wednesday into League One for next season.

Ian Wright, like Eze, was 27 when he joined Arsenal from Palace, fwiw.
As Sutekh said, the chance to join a club like that doesn't come along often.

Stat-watch. Middlesbrough now top of the Championship table. Manchester United, way back in 1905/06, are the only second tier club ever to have amassed Coventry's 43 points after 18 games and not be promoted. Just 16 points from their subsequent 13 matches.

Also, Celtic's late winner blows the SPL race wide open. I really want Hearts to do it. But there's an inevitability about the Old Firm.

And again, Arsenal got exactly what they deserved.

The whole mindset as set by Arteta is just not good enough. Why take a short corner in added time rather than playing one of their killer balls into the 6 yard area….? Because it will use up a few more seconds against the team with 9 points. That’s just crap and weak.

They are screwing themselves over week after week and it ain’t going to stop. Man City are used to this situation and will be loving the challenge. Looks to me like Arsenal are hating it.

If Arsenal and Man City get through their next Champions League games then they meet in the QF, and they would have these 4 out of 5 consecutive fixtures against each other:

22/3 - Arsenal Vs Man City (EFL cup final)
7/4 - Man City Vs Arsenal (CL)
11/4 - Chelsea Vs Man City / Arsenal Vs Bournemouth
15/4 - Arsenal Vs Man City (CL)
18/4 - Man City Vs Arsenal (PL)

Its like a slightly more rubbish version of when Real Madrid played Barcelona 4 times in 18 days!

That Wolves equaliser was eerily similar to the one Arsenal shipped against Sunderland, Gabriel and Raya getting in a tangle.
They deserve all the predictable bottling jibes they will be getting, that 2nd half just wasn`t good enough, they strolled the 1st half and thought the job was done.
Just deja vu, season after season, Arteta`s position will surely need to be reviewed if they end the season empty handed again given the position they`re in.

Scrap it, we’ve survived a dozen or so decades without it, and if it’s ‘so necessary nowadays’ then why is it only a part of the ‘elite’ league game?

Better trained and monitored officials please, not the slow-motion goal-no goal celebrations that are now such a turn-off

I know Spurs are limited for options with all their injuries but five holding midfielders in Palhinha, Gray, Gallagher, Bissouma and Sarr….what’s the point? Ok, some played in other positions but surely at this stage, it’s worth trying something else than Archie Gray at RWB for example?

The biggest irony perhaps is that even with their midfielders galore, they still managed to concede via a gaping hole between defence and midfield

Dreadful side from top to bottom who deserve everything they get

I know my eyes aren't great but I thought the ball just hit Macca's back and I'm not sure that the point of the elbow would have produced enough power especially as he didn't make any additional movement of the arm.
Justice done by the VAR approved goal.

Hopefully it was just an off day for Liverpool but they were generally lifeless-no coincidence that when Jones plays they are less effective and certainly don't gain anything in the tackling and defensive departments.
A good run of fixtures should see them make a strong impact on the top 3 or 4.as long as the mojo returns.

MacAllister himself said it hit him on the elbow as well as his back and he accepted that was the rule. Guess he might have been a bit less sanguine about it they hadn't won the match.
Its a rule I don't agree with as I don't think its right that a handball is treated differently if its an attacker and it results in a goal compared to it happening in any other scenario.

Oh, for the good old principle that intent is the thing that matters in handball decisions. Might not be VAR-friendly but it makes a whole lot more sense in deciding if something should be allowed or not.

Didn't watch the whole game but I'd say Salah is at least as much to blame as Jones.

He looks pretty hopeless right now.

Spurs quality summed up by Yves Bissouma(?) yesterday who was tackled by Eze 40 yards from goals, then made almost no effort to chase after him, casually jogging back, only to see once in the area the ball bounce off a Spurs defender right to Eze again, who was completely free because Bissouma should have been with him
