Having watched Wolves this season, if they don't break our record (and I don't think they will looking at those points posted) then it will hammer home to me just how good that season was!

Mr Angry A final point re: this season; we still have Wolves, Brum and Shef Utd to come to us yet....

What worries me about this is that our brilliant home form was against the also-rans. When the big boys come calling our home record could start getting dented.

It was dented not by an also-ran OR one of the big boys, but by a nobody. Go figure.

We seem to raise our game against "better" teams, so I'm confident that when it comes to games against our promotion rivals, we will be ok.

I'm more concerned by home games against teams like Barnsley, Charlton and Forest!

I had five spare minutes and a calculator, so I went ahead and did this. I ain't proud.

Wolves are on 58 points from 26 games (full-season projection = 102.6) and will play for 60 more.

If they drop as many as 13, their maximum possible will be 105. What we seek is their playing out no better than:

13W 7D 0L = 46 pts (form that projects to 105.8 points over a full season)
14W 5D 1L = 47 pts (full season projection 108.1)
14W 4D 2L = 46 pts (105.8)
15W 2D 3L = 47 pts (108.1)
15W 1D 4L = 46 pts (105.8)
15W 0D 5L = 45 pts (103.5)

Even if they were to finish out that well, they of course wouldn't match the 106, but they would outperform their showing from the first 26.

I don't think it's Wolves we've got to worry about for the record anyway. It's Leicester.

I don't think we have to worry about either.

Leicester have two fewer points than Wolves did after 23 games this season (and consequently five fewer than we did) and have more league games to play in a shorter period of time than both of us:

Proints from games on FA Cup 3 round weekend:

Reading 05/06 - 69 points from 28 games
Wolves 08/09 - 58 points from 26 games
Leicester 08/09 - 51 points from 23 games

We'll not break 100, but it's looking like being much closer than i thought a few weeks ago.

Is anyone else hoping that Wolves and Brum are involved in 'proper' derby game tomorrow....i.e. they kick ten tonnes of sh*t out of each other!!! Just a thought!

Ideally kick 10 tonnes of shit out of each other in a 0-0 draw and then in the return at Molineux next Tuesday Wolves can have a couple sent off (for a 3 game ban offence so they miss the Reading game) whilst still winning so they have to play on Saturday 24th too!

Indeed - but at least Wolves winning means that they will have a game at home to Middlesbrough on the Saturday (24th) before they play us.

I think our 106 record is safe.

Probably. It's all about Leicester who could certainly get up to around three figures.
