quite disappointing that the 3 that paid the most in the Championship are the clubs that made up the top 3 positions this season

Dirk Gently
Sutekh Is this clubs paying player’s agents? Surely the ******* players should be paying them.

In any other type of business in the world - yes (*). But football has it's own rules and practices...

(*) Not withstanding that some of these payments will be to agents employed to find buyers for players that clubs want rid of.

We’ll surely it’s precisely the sort of thing that should be being outlawed by the regulator, where the clubs don’t have the contract with the agent then the player should be paying up.

"I want £30M for the player and 10% agent's fees"
"we don't pay agent's fees"
"sure, that'll be £33M for the player then"

Yes, we know how it’ll work, but that’s how it’s meant to in business. Football is a business and these stupid differences should be stopped, might also make players think more about the percentages their agents are on when the money is coming out of their accounts rather than just being an additional number they vaguely hear of now and then.

Eric Dier, who is somehow only 31 years old, to leave Bayern in the summer and join Monaco on a free.

for a bloke who often looks 'limited' you have to say he has maximised his potential. Runner up in the Portuguese league, runner up in the Premier League, a champions league finalist, now about to win the Bundesliga and then off to earn some tax free money at one of the best teams in France, and with a little luck more champions league football

In the least surprising transfer news of the summer. Trent Alexander-Arnold announces his departure from Liverpool. No word yet on where oh where he might be going.

Good to see they've finally bought that striker they desperately need/absolutely don't need*

Looking forward to Arteta's groundbreaking 4-4-2-0 formation next season.

Real Madrid sign Leon Westin, a Swedish kid who just turned 16 last month and has been at Las Palmas. Apparently there has been quite a scrap between the top clubs in Spain as he is so highly rated.

The dismantaling of Leverkusen begins - they'll fall back down to 5th or 6th next season.
