Jinx Isn't that more Forest-y? They (and their owner) seem to whine about everything

Yeh, this. He had a release clause, Spurs triggered it. Don't think Forest have anything to complain about.

Maranakis was whining because Spurs triggered the release clause but he was whining that how does anyone know about the release clause as a contract is private and confidential

And that’s a whole other kettle, just what is the point in a release clause, esp. if no-one knows about it?

He might have a point on tapping up as that seems to happen an awful lot despite being illegal in the game. My thought is why the hell is it illegal. In other professions you can be headhunted so why is football different? This window Bayern had apparently been talking to Wirtz, Napoli have supposedly agreed terms with Nunez and Real Madrid spend entire seasons getting into the head of any soon to be out of contract players and yet the parent club hasn’t agreed a fee or seemingly granted permission for an approach to the player.

His agent would know…

Yeah isn't it standard that release clauses become known because its beneficial to the player for it to be known and so the agent leaks it?

David Ornstein says that, whilst no formal bid has been submitted, Liverpool are testing the water on Alexander Isak, and have 'informed' Newcastle that they would be interested in a deal for the striker in the region of £120m.

Eintracht Frankfurt reject a £70m bid from Newcastle for Hugo Etikike. And Liverpool reject a bid of €67.5m from Bayern for Luis Diaz.

Sky Sports now reporting that Newcastle have swiftly told Liverpool that Isak is not for sale - and so Liverpool will turn their attentions to Hugo Etikike. It's a game of chess.

Sky Sports are way slow on their reporting, this game of chess has been going on for the last 6 months. Liverpool have made it clear they would like to take Isak off Newcastle’s hands several times while Newcastle have been saying they’re not interested several times. However P&S may ultimately dictate otherwise and if Liverpool offered Elliott in a p’ex as well it could get very interesting. And in any case I can’t see Newcastle saying anything other than no on selling Isak at the moment otherwise Frankfurt will be wanting to fleece them over a fee for Ekitike.

At the end of the day the Magpies will lose out somewhere with either Isak or Ekitike going to Liverpool.

Liverpool want €85m for Diaz and know there’s Saudi clubs that are ready to offer in excess of that too. Bayern really are having a cr@p window so far.
