Hard to see anyone getting anywhere near Liverpool for the next few years with their buying power.

Saw some journo say last night that the Guehi move has taken a while as Palace have been demanding a 12 month loan for either Joe Gomez or Konate in with it. Liverpool have been saying no and telling them to go sign their own new CB from elsewhere, which they were close to sorting yesterday https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/jaydee-canvot-crystal-palace-transfer-latest-b1245256.html

been some talk around whether Mainoo stays or not. I would love to see him go on loan abroad for a year. If they are not going to play him then go out to Spain for a year and get some experience there. come back a whole new player!

Read at the weekend that Liverpool have sold 13 players under 21 years old in the last two or three years (I forget which) for a combined £200m, players that cost a total £15m to buy. Their current strong position needs to be contextualised with some quiet transfer windows in the recent past.

But agreed - they are building a world class squad. And out of nowhere it seems, a very young one too.

Mamardashvili, Frimpong, Kerkez, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Wirtz, Ekitike, Bradley, Elliott, Jones all under 25. Isak only 25, Gakpo 26, Konate 26. Guehi transfer looks in the balance, but he is only 25 too.

Guehi transfer may rely on Joe Gomez. Palace struggling to find a replacement. Gomez favours a move to Milan, but it is believed Palace will match the fee promised by the Italian side. Gomez to Palace and Guehi to Liverpool might be how this plays out.

Manchester clubs and keepers today - Donnarumma to City getting closer. Emi Martinez to United looking likely too.
