Even Chappers made the point on the FL show, that Rodgers inherited a team that played his system in Swansea.
Hope they go up mind.

Just the current time on BWs BIG WATCH. Hardest games left are Forest & Norwich at some so it's in our own hands...

Royalee
papereyes ... and it would take a heartless soul not to say that 05-06 and 06-07 were the two best seasons in the club's history thus far.

Yeah, best two seasons, but totally undone in the next two. Coppell also had the best starting point of any Reading manager, so it's all relative.

You can't undo a best season. It's either a best season or it isn't.

I would agree that Coppell did have a good starting point - however it was a testament to his manegerial skill that we not only didn't lose any of the team but added to the squad with some of the best players that have ever graced a Royals shirt. But then Royalee, as has been well documented, you're loathed to give our ex manager any plaudits for what happened during his tenure.

And BR on 5 Live last night pretty much conceded that he underestimated the scale of the job at Reading. He said that he mistakenly assumed that the players knew what to expect after he had been coaching here for 10 years. Naive? More than likely. Bad manager? On reflection of what he is doing with Swansea then no. Quite simply, the wrong man at the wrong time.

:| So how many of those players had he coached during his previous spell working with the kids then? Ivar? N Hunt? Long? Tabb? Kebe?

Every time I soften towards him for the good job he is doing at Swansea in the hope that he deprives Cardiff and Forest promotion, he comes out with some sh*t like this.

TBF the Reading job is a blemish on his CV and he has to explain it away somehow rather than going "yeah I didn't quite cut the mustard"

Everyone I interview does exactly the same thing.

Royalee @ 26 Feb 2011 14:19 when Swansea were beating Leeds If you think what is on show on Sky Sports 2 right now is boring football then may I suggest rugby - that's played by fat people without the technique or intelligence to play football with lots of long ball hoofing.

Swansea are playing some lovely stuff.

This is getting a bit creepy

Was there last night. Some great footy but trying too hard to outdo Arsenal and walk it in. Again lucky that most of the other teams failed to capitalise. Still 2nd tho.

Agreed, but I can't help myself! He'll be back when you win again.

It's getting very tight for that 2nd automatic place now. What's your run in?

LOL at this having come back to it - so Swansea haven't won for 2 games, they're still light years ahead of us and still very likely to go up.

Light years?

That's a bit harsh.

Must make us a galaxy away from Doncaster then (10 points behind us but play good football)
