1960 Just supposing France had qualified, leaving Serbia to play off, and Portugal had qualified, leaving Denmark second, does anyone believe that FIFA would then have seeded the play-offs? Serbia and Denmark - no big names and FIFA couldn't give a flying f about them. Tough, they can knock each other out.
Disgraceful. Even UEFA get the top team to play second in the knockout stages of the CL. They don't say, oh, we want Barcelona and Real Madrid in the later stages so we'll fix the draw. They did it more subtly though, leaning on the Chelsea ref to ensure they didn't get to the final. And if you think this is a crackpot conspiracy theory, come back in a few years when it's all water under the bridge and the truth will come out. It emerged a few years ago that Forest had been cheated out of a European Final by a bent ref, but it didn't come out till it was too late to do anything about it. But come out it did.
