In all honestly i think Lampard has played 10x better since Gerrard hasn't been in the side - personally i dont feel we've missed "Stevie G" and FC shouldn't change the side for the next game

As much as I think Gerrard is the better of the two players I think thats the way to go.

It's a combination of Barry/Hargreaves/Carrick with Lampard/Gerrard/whoever next in line that should be our midfield pairing.

If Gerrard is pulled out by his club and misses a few games and Lampard plays well then he loses his place until either Lampard fails, or Gerrards form is so far ahead of Lampards that he cant be left out. Get some competition for places and see who actually wants to play for their country.

We might even get to the point where players dictate to their clubs that they want to go away on international duty instead of resting or having ops as they don't want to risk losing their place.
