Pretty much agree with your comments FOC - this is what I posted at the time on the NLN site.

Yes it was a cracking game and one I couldn't see us losing at any stage until that last minute winner!

Bit of a hoof it high team Flackwell Hearh but in their big forward (sorry cant remember his name) they had a skilful brute who dominated in the air and was calm and inventive on the floor.

We just lack a proper centre forward at the moment but played some excellent football at times.

Jason Sheeran was our MOTM in midfield, hardly put a foot wrong.

Good luck Flackwell Heath in the final!

I understand Maidenhead lost but not as heavily as Windsor who also lost at home to Hanworth Villa. Talk about a topsy turvy game. 2-0 down, got back to 3-2 in front only to lose 6-3!

Can't say it wasn't entertaining! Worth £6 of anybody's money.

Guernsey's game against Bedfont Sports on Tuesday night was postponed as the team were unable to travel as snow in Guernsey closed the airport. With the FA Vase semi-final causing another two postponements it's going to be somewhat tricky to fit in their 23 remaining league fixtures.

Just a little. One of the other Vase semi-finalists, Shildon, also have 23 League games to play by 4th May.

(Guernsey have 15 games in hand of Windsor...)

Slough Town proposed new ground under threat, as apparently a new school may get the site instead of them. Real blow if true, as need decent facilities in town to grow, not renting 5 miles away in Becky.

Slough have kind of put all their eggs in this basket haven't they? Seemed so confident that it was just a matter of time.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Slough if it does fall apart. I have no insider knowledge at all but looking at the squad i cannot imagine the crowds alone are paying for it when you don't get revenue like bar money etc

Wouldn't shock me if Kevin Stott is on the phone trying to get Slough to move to the Meadow.

Well, bearing in mind that the Arbour Vale plan was fully supported by the Council, included in the Local Plan, and was awaiting planning permission, there didn't seem to be any reason not to believe that it would get the go-ahead.

However, thanks to the Free School application in Stoke Poges receiving unanimous opposition, and the local MP (Dominic Grieve, Attorney General) being cabinet chums with Michael Gove whose department has to approve the transfer of 'educational land' to other uses, it would appear that STFC are about to get oxf*rd over.

The crowds aren't great, averaging 230 (still the highest in the Division) and they won't go up until we either get out of the Division or get back into the town, so I'm sure that investment is a concern. Windsor again? Who knows, just feel that it's not sustainable long-term outside of the town unless they get a very good deal somewhere.

Yep seemed nailed on so guess there is no plan b and Slough will have to go back to the drawing board. Is it sensible for a homeless club with no new ground on the horizon to be looking at playing at any level higher than what you are currently in? I'm not sure.

Wonder if higher crowds at Windsor were more to do with no recession or its just an easier place to get to and gives you residents of Slough a chance to get on the right side of the river! :D

... a round-up of some notable local results from MW (Tue unless stated)

CONFS Basingstoke 2-0 Maidenhead - att 250

SOUTHP Chesham United 1-0 Arlesey Town - goal in the first minute - 6th win in 7 games for the 'Generals' now up to 8th
SOUTH1C Burnham 3-0 Ashford Town (Middx) - fair few Red cards in this one 3 for the away side I think.
SOUTH1C Daventry 3-1 Sluff :( -all of the home sides goals in 10' spell late on.
SOUTH1C Fleet Town 0-0 Royston Town
- dead and buried Woodford lose 0-7 H to Rugby - nil points from 31 now! - Burnham 3 pts clear at top from Godalming who trounced Aylesbury 5-0 away last night {Thu}.
SOUTH1S&W Abingdon United 1-2 Yate Town
{Wed} SOUTH1S&W Swindon Supermarine 2-0 Didcot Town - again late goals here - Supermarine have crept up to third behind long-time leaders Hungerford Town, who have slumped a bit of late and new leaders Poole Town - a resurgent Merthyr not far back in 4th. Ab.Utd and Diddy look safe enough in lower mid-table. Bishops Cleeve or Winchester most likely to drop if there is an actual relegation spot from this league.
Some Anorak-breaking News in this area : there might be a new 'Andover' on the rise a 'junior' club are seeking to move into the unused Portway Stadium with a view to climbing back up the Pyramid - will probably start in the equivalent of STEP08 (the Hants 2004 league 1 below AFC Aldermaston)
8)

CCLP Dorking 2-0 Colliers Wood United
CCLP Farnham Town 3-0 Croydon
CCLP Hartley Wintney 1-3 Egham Town - was at this: good tussle HW on the up of late but league leaders Egham were too strong off the bench; turned the game late 2nd half as home side tired.
CCLP Raynes Park Vale 2-3 Windsor
- as above Guernsey unable to travel for their game at Bedfont Sports on Tue - doesn't help that they don't always seem to have their ground available to them on a Sat PM due to Rugger - and elsewhere there's some serious catch-up in this division:
{Thu} CCLP Farnham 2-0 Horley
{Thu} CCLP South Park 4-4 Chessington & Hook
CCL CUP R4 Sandhurst Town 0-2 Cobham - 'Fizzers' looking doomed in the league get no consolation in the Cup going down to lower ranked oppposition

HELLP Abingdon Town 0-1 Slimbridge
HELLP Ascot United 2-2 Highworth Town
HELLP Newbury 2-6 Marlow
HELLP Flackwell Heath 3-0 Shrivenham
{Wed} Oxford City Nomads 1-0 Binfield - another poor result in a rapidly unravelling season for the 'Moles' :| - though OCN did hold leaders Marlow recently and I think were the only side to prevent them scoring this season in the league.
HELL1E Henley 2-2 Easington - a third point of the season for Henley :D
HELL1E Maidenhead Res 5-1 Finchampstead - scotches a few rumours - evidently winning well without too many first teamers as they would have been at the Camrose?
HELL Cup Q-F (proper ie not the Supplementary 'losers' one) Ardley 1-2 Wantage aet
- other Q-F ties due later this month: Brimscomb & Thrupp (from Div One West) v Cheltenham Sarries; Kidlington v Marlow. The fourth Q-F got a bit complex due to Witney Town's untimely demise - they'd beaten Chalfont Wasps 7-0 in the last round back in early December and should have progressed to meet Nomads. Looking at the Hellenic league site, appears as if Nomads have a bye to the Semis

.... w/e Preview to follow shortly! :)
