So..an ill judged comment from another era which should be handled in the correct way, but in the end...in 2013 we have far bigger problems


Zero appreciation for context. The joke Hodgson told is perfectly acceptable in any era because it's about a hypothetical Monkey NASA used that was perfectly competent but perhaps the astronauts (i.e experienced players) didn't think so.


The joke has nothing to do with Race but with using all your assets regardless of preconceived expectations.

I have literally no comprehension of how anybody could consider that as racist. In fact, I'd argue that trying to claim it might be racist, is in fact racist. Because there is literally no reason to even consider it, unless you somehow equate black people with monkeys and cannot recognise the context of the joke. And why would anyone do that!?

I cannot even begin to express how totally baffled and peeved I am by this "scandal".

Januzaj interviewed on Kosovan TV last night apparently.

Said that he doesn't get to choose which national team he will play for, that is his fathers decision though he knows that Turkey & Serbia are an absolute no no. Albanian FA have never tried to contact him and Roy Hodgson has spoken with his dad and said that England would be interested if they were.

Said that a decision would be made 'in the coming days'.

Being reported there as either Albania or Belgium apparently.
