So it looks like Man City's spending continues then? How does that work with the new fair play rules coming into force at the end of this season? Lost £170m last year and still buying players?

Had to laugh (albeit with a tinge of sad irony) at all the Man City fans on 606 on Sunday. Basically saying they needed to spend big on a new striker now that Aguero looked like he was injured. This is despite still having Tevez on the pitch, Djecko and Ballotelli on the bench and Adebayour/Santa Cruz on the payroll. Total joke.

Michael Dawson to QPR. Great signing if he stays fit.

Yep. Great signing for them. Depressing career move for him, but I guess his options are limited with his injury problems.

Likewise Huddlestone who is apparently Stoke-bound.

Alexander Buttner (lol) to United - probably ends Ferguson's interest in Baines.

Word is that Adebayor has cost Spurs £5M for the transfer and a £4M signing on fee to the player. He refused to lower his £175,000 a week wages so City have agreed to continue paying him £100,000 a week for the next 2 years while Spurs pay £75,000 a week and don't break their wage structure

So City signed him for £24M and sold him for -£5M

NeiLOL WaROFLnock on El Hadji Diouf last year “For many years I have thought he (Diouf) was the gutter type - I was going to call him a sewer rat but that might be insulting to sewer rats.
“I think he is the lowest of the low and I can't see him being at Blackburn much longer because I can't see Steve Kean putting up with someone like that in the dressing room when he is trying to form a new image for Blackburn.

Anyone care to guess who he's signed this week.

Yep, now of course he's just a misunderstood loveable rogue. Leeds, Bates, Warnock & Diouf, thats some combination.

QPR agree a deal in principle for Carvalho on loan. That's gonna be a pretty decent centreback pairing!

They are offering some salaries at QPR, aren't they. Decent squad they are building.

Fantastic signing.

Even with his previous injuries, and the price tag, I'd take him at Reading in a heartbeat

QPR's wage bill will be quite impressive for a bottom half club

With all of these expensive signings coming in, 2 things are clear - if they are struggling by Xmas, Hughes will be gone; if they get relegated, they will be in financial meltdown.
