I give you Almiron....
So pleased Eddie Howe is doing well.
So pleased when Conte loses. He must be a nightmare to play for - screaming at players where to pass the ball throughout 90 mins must drive them mad.

YorkshireRoyal99 Without disrespect, I'm actually quite surprised Newcastle are doing as well as they are and it does show a great transformation that Eddie Howe has done. Fair enough, players like Bruno, Isak, Botman and Trippier are all talented players for sure, but they've still managed to massively improve with players like Dan Burn, Chris Wood, Matt Targett etc who are just decent enough PL players. They aren't necessarily poor players, but they've been plying their trade in the bottom half of the PL, in the main, for a few years so it's a surprise to see where they are performing now.
Fair play to Howe and co, he's developing a really good side and the positivity around the place seems to be doing them wonders at the moment. They are going toe to toe with every side in the division and were very unlucky to not get anything against Liverpool away as well.

Yep, this. For all the rightful criticism of their ownership, the club haven't approached this as many thought that they would, and they have bought astutely, whilst getting a tune out of players like Targett and Burn who have struggled at this level before. Howe is approaching a year in charge now, and Liverpool and City remain the only teams to win at St. James Park in that time, it is becoming quite the fortress. And but for Matip's injury time winner at Anfield, they would be unbeaten this season.

Winston Biscuit Haaland is only 6 goals away from equaling last seasons PL top goalscorer

Dixie Dean holds the all-time top-flight record in England with 60 goals during the 1927-28 campaign. For Haaland to eclipse this he would have to up his current ratio of 1.15 goals per-game to 1.62 – an increase of around 0.5 for every 90 minutes (plus added time) remaining.

13 players scored 23 or more that season
Only two pens between all of them

I wrote about that on another thread recently. Change to the offside law in the 1920's and there was around 6 seasons of high scoring mayhem before it calmed down.

genome It's funny because, Tottenham being Tottenham aside, Kane is actually having one of the best goalscoring seasons of his career so far, but it's not even registering on anyone's radar because of Haaland.

We've come to take Kane for granted, which I guess emphasises his class. 51 goals for England, only eight of which have come in friendlies or the Nations League. And 193 Premier League goals now - he'll likely be into second ahead of Rooney by the end of this season and will go past Rooney's England record, and Shearer's Premier League mark in time too. In fact Kane might be England's top scorer for generations.

Didn't know this - surprised therefore that Dean's figure doesn't come with an asterisk. What is the record in 'normal times'?
