kieran Agreed, in the 90's Pompeys crowds dropped pretty low. I really dont know why. I think it may have been due to the Fratton end being knocked down. It wasnt until later on in the 90's when they went back up to 18k ish.

Thaumagurist*kieran Seeing as we have rarely met throughout history (or certailnly not with any importance)
Rarely? Soccerbase says we've played you 42 times. That's not rare.

I don't remember Portsmouth averaging 18k in the late 90's.
1990–91: 19,681
1991–92: 11,789
1992–93: 13,706
1993–94: 11,692
1994–95: 8,629
1995–96: 9,503
1996–97: 8,723
1997–98: 11,149
1998–99: 11,956
1999–00: 13,906
Nope, no 18k crowds in the late 90's at all.

PieEater I've not seen any details but is it possible that the parachute payments will mean they manage to keep their key players, or is a firesale looming?
They were relegated regardless of the points deduction, so I can't see what the down side is to the CVA and it has a massive up side. They will be in much better shape than Hull next season.

kieranSilver Foxkieran Pompey is a poor city.
With a club to match, most sensible thing you've said on this thread

No, keep up. We have a CVA now. Now we can spend, spend, spend again.

Barry the bird boggler Its not 110 years its about 85, soccerbase won't take any note of any southern league games played. So since we joing the FL in 1920 there's been a game with Pompey on average every other season - Reading lose most of them by the way.

It still has to be ratified in court- and HMRC will almost certainly challange the £24m debt to them. It is perfectly lawful for them to impose penalties of 100%- if this penalty was not taken into account for the debts, then it is still hopeful that the judge will throw out the agreement.
It takes a certain mentality I suppose to continue to support a club who steals your money.

Exactly.
Question to Portsmouth poster: Why has there been no move from the "fantastic" (sic) fanbase to reclaim the Club (a la Wimbledon and FC United) from the cheats, charlatans and crooks that have been in charge in recent years?
Or is status more important than credibility?
