Mr Angry Seems that - amazingly - the new owners of Rangers were lying when they said earlier this week that all Scottish Football debts had been paid.........

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19266049

No wonder they still wear the same shirts; their new owners are as big a bunch of crooks as the last lot!!!!

It may be cash flow problems at the SPl that means united are still unpaid

"Furthermore, the club was given a written commitment from the SPL [Scottish Premier League] in May that it would settle an outstanding debt to Dundee Utd.

This was coming from the prize money that the SPL has withheld from Rangers

Who Moved The Goalposts? Now they appear as a bunch of tasteless chavs with some of the vilest, most self-indulgent and delusional fans.

Been to East London/ Hornchurch/ Romford/ Ilford recently?

A club tends to reflects it's fanbase

Which makes us...?

Which makes us not in the same league. We've got our idiots for sure - as this site demonstrates regularly - but pound for pound, I think we are a friendlier, more open minded crowd.

As I had a brother who supported WHU, I remember being taken to Upton Park many times. They seemed okay - even to the point of being tolerant of my other brother cheering in the home end when his team (WBA) scored (Cyrille Regis, iirc). Perhaps it was just the naievity of youth, but I enjoyed my days out there.

But a friendlier, more open-minded crowd will display less passion, and make less noise. Which to some makes them less of a "proper" football crowd - and more fickle, too.

Just goes to show there's no such thing as perfection, I guess.

Rangers response :

RANGERS Football club has today released the following statement.

Rangers Chief Executive Charles Green said: “As previously stated, Rangers Football Club can confirm it has paid all outstanding debts to Scottish football clubs, in addition to agreeing to waive all claims to unpaid fees accrued last season, as part of the Five Party Agreement which was a condition of SFA membership.

“A letter from the SPL to the Club - dated 18 May 2012 - stated ‘The Board decided to accede to the application of Dundee Utd and accordingly, the sum will be withheld from the next sum payable by the SPL Limited to Rangers and the sum will be paid by the SPL Limited to Dundee Utd.’

“Why the SPL have not paid Dundee Utd the outstanding sum as previously agreed is a question that they need to answer.

"We wrote to Dundee Utd on Monday explaining the SPL had previously confirmed they would pay it.

“I spoke to Stewart Regan and his solicitor this morning and provided them with copies of all relevant documentation.”

and the letter does exist, as seen by Scottish television :

STV has obtained the wording of a letter believed to have been sent by the Scottish Premier League to Rangers on May 18, 2012.

In the correspondence, the SPL agrees to meet a debt owed by Rangers to Dundee United, totaling just over £31,000, taken from competition money due to the Ibrox club for finishing second in the league in the 2011/12 season.

The letter, from SPL secretary Iain Blair, read: "The Board of the Scottish Premier League Ltd considered the application by Dundee United that the outstanding sum due by Rangers to Dundee United of £31,031.20 be offset against the next sums due to Rangers by SPL Ltd, with the offset sum being paid to Dundee United.

"The board decided to accede the application to Dundee United and accordingly the sum will be withheld from the next sum payable by the SPL Ltd to Rangers, and the sum will be paid by the SPL Ltd to Dundee United."

Hey Weybridge,

How many are you expecting for East Stirling this Saturday, 40k+, gonna be a Div3 record whatever,
maybe you could put that on your shirts!

Seriously though, do you think the fans will keep going at that level during the winter months?
grudging respect to them if they do.
Can't get access to huns site just now, but how much are the charging for a ticket for these games, d'ya know?

Oops Portsmouth buyer pulls out...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19267273

The blind faith of the supporters trust are the only ones left to take over the millstone

All that needs to happen is

Chainrai is owed £17m by the club and holds Fratton Park as security but the PST has offered him £2.75m to relinquish his hold on Pompey.
Birch will meet with both parties in the coming deal to resolve the issue, leaving the PST to complete its takeover of the club.
The PST has already agreed a deal with non-secured creditors to pay them two pence in the pound.
If it can agree a deal with Chainrai then the Trust will be the frontrunner to save Pompey.
And Farmery says the PST is ready to act and has urged fans who have pledged money to the bid to prepare to donate the full amount - in most cases £1,000.

What could possibly go wrong there?

£17 for a ticket in Copeland stand is not bad, thought they'd be charging you £30+ to max their income,
so Greens lot are doing some things right by you. Let's hope it lasts.
Gonna be a long hard 3 years plus for you & sellic, you're expected to win every game,
if you do it'll be pretty dull for you both,
if you don't, then you'll be in for loads of stick, inside & out.

we were expected to win every game anyway!

if we didn't we were in for loads of stick anyway!!

The only difference is how dull it will be for both of us if we do.

Sheffield United feeling the pinch now....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19342735

Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson admitted financial reasons were behind the absence of Nick Montgomery and Richard Cresswell for Tuesday's draw with Coventry.

The Blades drew 1-1 at the Ricoh Arena but the experienced duo were not even included on the bench.

"They were both fit, they were left out for financial reasons," he told BBC Radio Sheffield.

Is that true? If it is, how the hell are they permitted to bid £10m for Jarvis - 7m of which is upfront - when this debt from 4 years ago is still outstanding?
