Bill Oddie's Beard Just signed Carlos Edwards on loan, great bit of business imo

Good winger, more than good enough for this level. Ousted by Malbranque at Spenderland IIRC

i dont understand how Edwards cant get in Sunderlands team, from what ive seen he is a top player way better than the championship.

He's good, but not better than Malbranque. He deserves to be in the Prem - I imagine a few Stoke/Hull fans would look at this deal and think they'd have wanted in.

But Stoke and Hull can't "want in" until the January transfer window - Edwards' loan spell at Wolves finishes on 02/01/09...

Carlos Edwards' problem is injuries and he hasn't played too much football over the past season and a bit.

Is this your quote, or are you quoting somebody else? (Sounds like something Jeff Stelling would say). If you, you really shouldn't laugh at it, leave that to us.

Wolves won't win the league. Play-Offs seem a more realistic target for them.

Their fans are not taking it too well.

Second consecutive game of 3 let in...

Edwards drafted in on emergency loan..

Talk of walking this division have gone out of the window (and rightly so)

Heh well, the chuckle was more a private one gone public and at being reminded of the annual points record angst ramping up before the commencement of holiday shopping season --now that's funny!

Just look at the current points tallies of sides that our boys have given an absolute battering...and try not notice where those who've taken points away now stand.

Better keep an eye on Forest --if they can turn things around on the quix, they could menace that record yet...

We've beaten half the top 10!? Not bad considering we're one of the remaining top 10 teams we haven't beaten.

(as of 4/10/08)

Recent form:
Wolves 101.2
Birmingham 98.6
Reading 92
(Burnley next closest with 79.8 )

Season form:
Birmingham 105.8
Wolves 101.2
Reading 92
(Sheff Utd next closest with 78.2)

Possible maximum:
Birmingham 131
Wolves 130
Reading 128

In the Premier League, Tottenham are on to smash Derby's record. Recent & season form both stand at 8.2 !!

John 3:16 - out of interest, how many games are you basing your "recent form" stats on? 'Cos if you go on last 6 games (which seem to be the norm for most form guides) it paints a different picture of:

Reading: 99.7 (13 points from 6 games) - ahead on GD
Brum: 99.7 (13 points from 6 games)
Wolves: 92.0 (12 points from 6 games)

Or am I missing the point?

I'm taking it from Football365. Don't know how they're working it out tbh.

Fair enough - a quick look at their site and they seem to use the last 8 games for their form guide.

Found this little gem of a stat:

Points v top half:

Team Pld vTH W D L F A GD GFA GAA PpG Pts
1 Reading (3) 10 5 5 0 0 18 1 17 3.60 0.20 3.00 15
2 Birmingham City (1) 10 3 3 0 0 4 1 3 1.33 0.33 3.00 9
3 Swansea City (8) 10 6 3 2 1 8 7 1 1.33 1.16 1.83 11
4 Derby County (15) 10 5 2 3 0 7 4 3 1.40 0.80 1.80 9
5 Ipswich Town (17) 10 5 2 1 2 6 4 2 1.20 0.80 1.40 7
6 Wolverhampton Wndrs (2) 10 5 2 1 2 10 10 0 2.00 2.00 1.40 7
