Massively agree with this, except I don't think either game will be a draw.

... is there a more appalling live commentary option than TalkSh!te Radio - masses of over-egged hyperbole with miniscule content.

Been trying to listen to Portugal v Denmark - and that Brummie twat (Danter?) managed to go gibbering off at so many gobcrapped tangents he failed to describe either the 2nd or 3rd goals - I only picked up that something had happened from crowd noise - the dozy tw@nk eventually managed to stop blithering long enough, to try and tell us what had happened meanwhile Micky 'I'm a great character me, La!' Quinn chuntered away with his own home-spun brand of b&££@(ks in the background.

... then again I find Johnathan Pearce's unrelentingly scattergun - 'listen to what I've just looked up' fact-spouting style, virtually impossible to put up with. [I'm sure he's probably astonishingly knowledgeable; it's just his delivery is indigestible.]
Not sure its a big improvement on his over-excited gabble he was renown for before he got moved up to the Beeb TV big match team.

I'm also convinced he manages to contradict himself every 5 mins or so.

..gaaah and now I'm back home I've got to put up with Andy Townsend.

... whatever happened to the 'mute' commentary option?

This idea of putting 5th and 6th officials behind the goal is crap! Do these guys actually do anything? And just was is the point in the really bright idea of putting them on the same side of the goal as the lineman?

The point is an additional set of eyes, and presumably he is wearing a mic to talk to the ref.

Agreed on the second point though.
