Winston Smith Hasselbaink gets the boot

Can't help thinking that the dodgy transactions business has something to do with it, but someone at the club thought they should wait for a few average results to get shot of him. That way his career isn't ruined and QPR can walk away from him.

I wonder what excuse Dwight Yorke will come up with if he doesn't get an interview for that one.

Yeah, almost certainly. Their form definitely isn't a sackable offence.

I'm sure his children will appreciate being pulled out of school in Los Angeles to move to Milton Keynes

Would be good to see him go all retro and be a player manager. In fact, are there any player managers around these days? Real ones, not ones who sign on to play but never get on

Kevin Nolan at Leyton Orient was probably the most recent.

When I hear the phrase 'player-manager' I automatically think of Andy Hessenthaler. I assume he was a manager through his whole playing career, probably gave himself his debut at 17 years old or summat.

But how many clubs have had two player managers playing in the same starting team at the same time?

Man, we used to be so low on that chart. We sacked just 1 manager between 2000 and 2012, and none between November 99 and Nov 2009.

surely, somebodies miscalculated QPR's management loyalty:?:

Or does it differentiate between sackings and "by mutual consent"

You look at the other nine clubs in that bin of 4 sackings. Absolute basketcases or teams with inflated opinions of their size and pretty much all poorly run, except for Watford, basically.

Sigh.

Is McDermott the only person to be sacked twice by 2 different clubs in that timescale?

Only sacked the first time by Leeds, the second was 'by mutual consent'.
