Silver Fox Is it now an actual law of association football that Luis Suarez is unable to win a penalty, no matter what a defender does to him?

If it isn't, then it should be.

That has to be the most embarrassing dive ever.

Suarez was actually near an opposition player.

Bale was clearly 'avoiding a career threatening injury', like he claimed last time.

Actually, I've watched again, and Suarez's is as bad. Stupid thing is he might actually have taken a bit of contact initially, half went down, and then threw himself to the floor while had the ball.

To be fair to Bale, that new mixture of plastic and real turf leaves a few strands sticking up and I can only assume he's caught his blades on a stray strand.

They're both equally embarassing.

There's no contact at all. He's about a close to the Stoke defender as Bale was to the Villa keeper.

I'm really not going to spend time arguing about this when I've already stated that the dives were as bad as each other, suffice to say that as Suarez turns inside either his right foot slips, or is tapped (very lightly) by the defender.

Quite why people make statements like the bit i've bolded when there is a visual aid to prove them wrong is absolutely beyond me.

Did Bale get booked for that?

Agreed. Bale's was awful too. Ivanovic and Oscar got booked not so long ago for dives which were nowhere near as bad as Suarez/Bale....shocking how they didn't get booked.

The FA must give yellow cards retrospectively.

I'd sooner they gave out retrospective one-game bans for obvious dives like those two. Would soon cut it out.

Bale, Suarez, Ivanovic & Oscar are all nominated for the Tom Daley award so far this season

Not enough. 5 game bans and the ability for clubs to fine their players internally. I'd love to see two months salary, but doubt that Gordon "my members can do no wrong and anyway who do you think pays for my £1m salary" Taylor would let that happen.

It's cheating, no other word for it.

Have to agree it's not as if the evidance is not there. Players can be done after for foul play not seen by the ref so why not diving?

I don’t think diving is an equivalent crime to trying to break someone’s legs, which amounts to a three or four game ban.

The threat of a one-game suspension would stop players going down so easily.
