I'm sure they would have loved to have kept Bale and be gifted £103m to spend but some clubs just aren't as lucky.

They also sold Caulker, Dempsey, Huddlestone, Parker and Defoe for a combined £30m so It's more like £113m in, £103m out, 6 players in, 6 players out. Basically, the purchases were funded by player sales rather than the owner's deep pockets.

Seems he's quite selective given his insistence on other threads that the number of twitter followers a club has is just as important in measuring a clubs size as the amount of trophies they've won.

I'll take your word for it. I only tend to follow news feeds on Twitter, there's only so much Wildeian bantz and repartee I can take from professional footballers. They make even Kes sound erudite.
