Was chatting to an Italian chum this weekend about the plight of Sampdoria, and he reckoned:

a) historically they were no big deal, a small fry Serie A / B yoyo club up to early 1980s, when they were bankrolled by oil money and won Coppa Italia, the ECWC (RIP!) and then Serie A, and at the same time
b) the good times coincided with increased awareness (in the UK) of Italian football including Gazzetta Italia (RIP!), so we're prone to thinking that they're a gigantic club, when in reality....

Winston Biscuit Derbi Barceloní tonight where Barca could secure the title in the local rivals back yard!

Kylian Mbappe breaks the Real Madrid club record for most goals in a debut season. 28 in 32 La Liga games, 40 in 54 overall.

Was amusing to see someone on reddit post "Barcelona are La Liga winners 24/25" only for the post to disappear when Real scored to win in the last second of their game to delay it 24 hours.

Guess this is the best place for this haha.

I studied abroad at the University of Bielefeld several years ago now, and been a fan of Arminia Bielefeld since haha. Also, host the English podcast(The Bielefeld Briefing) if want to give it a listen :D !DSC are about to win the third division and are in the cup final against Stuttgart also! If somehow can win that, will be in the Europa League next season, which would be amazing!

Also due to the lady in my life haha, follow Racing Club Santander. We are both hoping they can get promoted back to their rightful place in the top division. 3 points out right now with 3 games left.

good to have another euro football follower on here!

Racing Club have made a right mess of things this season. I follow Segunda quite closely and they were quite a way clear nearing the halfway point of the season, and seemed to just falled to pieces since. 5 wins from the last 14 games. They even lost to my boys Cartagena the other day!

You cannot. Let Lamine Yamal. Cut in. On his left.

That's three of these carbon copy goals in a month. Stunning finish.

Barca title-bound.

E probabile che la Sampdoria sia l'equivalente del Manchester City. Just sounds better.

Yeah for sure haha smh. Really should be top of the table and clinched promotion already but not to be. However. still very much in their hands! If they win out or at least 2/3 at the worst case scenario and other results go their way, can still go up! Guaranteed a spot in the playoffs but as you know that is always a lottery regardless what country you play in.

We shall see for sure. My girlfriend wants to go visit her family over there this Summer if we can find the time. Hopefully they will be happy with how the season ended haha.

Same for my fellow Bielefeld fans!

Isn’t almost every club in the PL after him? Heard, though, that the issue with him is his entourage and advisors thus the cut price €25m(?)

Winston Biscuit If Lille can somehow draw at home to Marseille tonight then Strasbourg have a real shot at getting in the CL.

Rosenior failed miserably in the end. Strasbourg lost both remaining games and finished 7th on 57 points equal with Lyon but with a worse GD. Don’t think they qualified for anything as a result.

Missed out on europe due to conceding in the 99th minute, and that goal also meant Le Havre jumped out of the relegation zone and sent Reims down!

Although if PSG beat Reims in the cup final next weekend then Strasbourg are into Europe

Winston Biscuit Serie B all set up for a stupendous final round of games tomorrow evening.

Sampdoria beat Salernitana at the weekend to jump above them and out of the relegation spot and into the relegation play offs. 2 relegation spots are free and 2 relegation play off spots are free, and 6 teams are fighting to stay out of them.

Salernitana Vs Cittadella being the obvious pick of the fixtures!

Sampdoria relegated to Serie C

I think they said in the commentary of the Napoli match last night that they're not quite down yet. Another club (Brescia?) have been docked points for financial dodgyness which took them below Sampdoria.

Napoli game was fairly dull until right at the end when both managers got sent off and Napoli had a penalty given and then overturned by VAR.
Inter also did their best to not take advantage conceding a late equaliser and then having a goal disallowed.
All now goes to the last game of the season and in true italian football style they haven't decided whether the matches will be played mid-week or at the weekend and whether the games will kick off at the same time or not.

I thought last 2 games of the season all had to be played at the same time (unless both teams involved in the fixture cannot have any impact on anyone else)

I got very excited when Napoli got the 95th minute pen last night. Rightly overturned though

relegation play offs now suspended while they decide whether this points deduction will be happen, and then Brescia would also get the option to appeal it if it happens.

'financial paperwork irregularities' from Massimo Cellino's Brescia

Genoa fans with a thank you banner to the Sampdoria owners
