Winston Biscuit 'financial paperwork irregularities' from Massimo Cellino's Brescia

The former Leeds owner? I'm going to say guilty.

Royal Rother When Ranieri gets it right he gets it right in a big way.

Since he took over (at the time) potentially relegation bound Roma they have won more points than any other team in the Serie A.

He says he won't be there next season though. Back to retirement, until the next rescue call I suppose.

Bit of a legend, isn't he? He took over on 14th November. They lost the first two league games on his tenure, and have lost just two since, a run that included 19 games unbeaten. He has taken them from 15th, to the Conference League at worst, Europa League if they beat Torino on the final day, and maybe Champions League if Juventus slip up.

Ahead of their squad being dismantled this summer - a quirk of Leverkusen's brilliantness is that their three league defeats this season have all come at home. They are now unbeaten in 34 away league games, which is a German record, and stretches back to their defeat at Bochum on the last day of the 22/23 season.

City 'pparently not in the race to sign Wirtz. Has all the makings of another player (like his teammate Jonathan Tah) being linked to lots of English clubs and then joining Bayern Munich.

Standard expected “negotiation” from these big names, they play off against other clubs so they can use what they’re offered to get a better deal from, in this case, Munich. Of course City might just be getting upset as Wirtz has said he’d rather join Liverpool than City or something but fully expect him to, totally surprisingly  , join Munich.

Yeah, Ranieri really does have that magic touch when he takes over struggling teams. I remember when he went to Leicester, nobody expected much, and then boom, Premier League title. With Roma, I’ve watched a few of their matches this season and the turnaround under him has been wild. It’s that steady hand and calm presence he brings that clearly lifts the squad.

I’ve been following more Serie A games lately, especially as the race for Europa and Conference League spots heats up. If you're looking to catch some of those decisive fixtures live, you might want to check this website. They usually have tickets available even when it's tight to find them elsewhere.

Must have been something in the water at Leicester, because the 'turnaround' started under Nigel Pearson, he deserves a lot of credit for keeping them up and stabilising the club. But what Ranieri then did was of course magic.

Ligue 1 in discussions this summer over some changes they want to make.

1. the 18 clubs breaking away from the current model and running it themselves, very much a PL inspired vision
2. a play off happening at the end of the season for the clubs finishing at the top to see who is the champion. so you could finish top of L1 then lose the grand final so are not champions
3. A new cup competition for all clubs apart from those who are playing European football

Mason Greenwood scored 2 on the last day to finish joint top scorer in the league

Lyon still technically relegated while they continue arguing for the next few weeks over their financial mess

Metz Vs Reims tonight in the relegation play off 1st leg. I wonder what happens if Reims lose and go down, only for Lyon's relegation to be confirmed? surely then Reims would get to stay up?

I was reminded of Charlie Patino at the weekend. young English up and comer who was at Arsenal, loads of positive noise around how good he was going to be, was in the England Under 21's, then chose to leave them as apparently his dream was to play for Deportivo La Coruna who he grew up supporting.

They are on track to finish in the bottom half of the Spanish 2nd tier and he made just 3 sub appearances all season

His father is a Galician if anyone was wondering why he’s keen on Coruña. Spain reportedly trying to get him to switch allegiance too :?

**Reminder**

Final games in Serie A being played tonight. Napoli 1 point ahead of Inter. Both games being shown live on TNT Sports tonight.

Both teams finishing on the same points would mean they play each other in a one off game to decide who wins (which is why they pulled the season forward to tonight so there is room for that game before Inter play the CL final)

Italian media claiming that Juventus are talking to Conte about him returning, and saying that Napoli knew he would be off so they held talks with Allegri a few days ago.
