Yet we still haven't done sh1t in Europe for how many years? Ridiculous that our top 2 divisions combined are more then all of those put together that are exponentially more successful then ours.

I know i'm being picky - but could someone do it without the combined spend of Newcastle/Villa for the championship? Would probably represent a more realistic figure I imagine

Newcastle spent £54.74M and Villa spent £49.47M so around £104M combined (though Newcastle made a net profit due to their sales)

Thanks, Winston.

2 teams spent the same as 22 other teams combined. FFP

Eh, personally I think it's fair enough for any club to spend within what they've sold, it's just on a large scale.

Barcelona suing Santos over their selling of Barbosa to Inter for €30ish million last month. When Barcelona bought Neymar they put into the contract 3 other Santos players that they had first refusal on, with the instruction being that they had 3 days to decide on buying each player once Inter notified them that they were about to sell the players. Inter notified Barcelona of their intention to sell Barbosa then sold him 2 days later giving Barca no time to decide if they would be taking him.

Agreed, it's the very definition of working within your means. The fact that they have very valuable assets to sell in order to generate those funds to then spend is a nature of their circumstance of being a relegated long established Prem side.

Have you got your buyers and sellers in a twist there?

was listening to an agent talk on the radio the other day about their role in transfers and what really goes on etc. he talked a bit about clubs not agreeing deals and where players lose out or end up earning more than expected. he used the example of a 23 year old English player who fully expected to transfer to another team in August but the buying club was £2.5M off the valuation and never found a way to bridge that. This agent said the player has since already struck an agreement to join a foreign team next summer and it will be announced in January where he is off to as he can officially announce he has signed a pre contract then what with his contract coming towards it's end.

He wouldn't say who the player was but I assumed it was Berahino
