Just why did the Swansea number 1 leave them to go and sit on the bench at Wolves?! :|

Loved Colin's interview. He was determined he was going to put on a brave face, grinning away when really his head was about to explode. Couldn't resist a dig at Kevin Davies...seven fouls and not one booking, he's a clever lad etc. Implying that the free kick (which it was Colin) that led to the cross for the second goal caused the whole defeat. What about the other three goals??!!

Also loved Gabbidon's home debut and Taarabt realising he is no longer a big fish in a small pond and may actually have to put some work in this year.

Colin pinning his hopes on new owners with a magic stack of cash to bail him out of this hole.

Booing as well after the first game of the season! Beautiful.

Some harsh deflections tbf but they looked out of place - hope that we put up a better first performance. The Davies dig was a bit off - that's how he plays and it was a foul. Would've been in a better position inside the box if he'd carried on.

Dyer = no surprise
Gabbidon = was a decent player
Taarabt = ^greed. Seemed he wanted all day to play around.

Still think we'll be fine - just need to finish above QPR, Nahrwich and A. N. Other (Blackburn??).

I think you should be ok because in the first season you can take teams by surprise a little and you get underestimated.

We made the mistake of thinking that along the lines of there are three worse teams than us in the second season up and paid the price!

A cliche I now but a reasonable start helps and after the City game I thought your run of home games aren't too bad? if I was brendan I would tell the players to go out and enjoy the City game with a bit of freedom because everyone will have written you off in that game anyway so may as well go for it rather than try and sit back and try and absorb the pressure.

As well as being chuffed about our (uunexpected) win at Leicester my local Welsh teams did well yesterday, Colwyn Bay won 2-0 away in their first game in the Blue Square North and the mighty Bangor City beat Llanelli 2-1!!

You must feel like a kid at Christmas who has to wait until Boxing Day for his pressies??!!

Yeh, a bit. It's the only game I can go to this season and taking my nephew - lives near C*rdiff so this and the Playoff final (sorry) should stop him from leaning toward the dark side. May be a bit difficult to 'go for it' against Citeh but may be a good time to play them. If we both play to our strengths then it could be a classic with a few goals...jinxed

It is all about the start. Was at the Urz vs 'boro game - if you hadn't come back the season may have been very different...

Re: Welsh league - my uncle is the physio for Carmarthen but not such a good start for them yesterday. Lost 1-0 at home to Newtown.

Shackleton Royal Anyone see Joey Barton today?? What a disgrace!! How did he not get sent off for his reaction to Gervinho!!??

Match of the Day showed the ref got it right over the cards. Gervinho hit Barton, so it was red. Barton didn't hit Gervinho, just pulled him up - yellow card.

Dyer stretchered off after 3 mins LOL there's a rare idea.

Bought precisely ZERO good players on top of cloggers like Derry, Hill, Helguson. Had 2 good attakcign players last season, one is now at Swansea and the other will get found out in the Premiership. 15,000 FTC. Absolutely no chance.

Violently pulled him up, dragged him around and squared up to him for absolutely no reason. Blatant red card. And then there's the simulation of injury after the slap which I believe is a yellow, so even if it was only a yellow card offence he gets two in the space of 10 seconds and is off anyway.

Really disappointed with Pards defending him.

Why are people having a go at Barton when Arsenal were clearly the ones in the wrong?

Fair point. Nobody seems to be mentioning the shocking stamping incident.

Hardly squared up. Started shouting at him and picked him up. It wasn't simulation. You never know Gervinho's slap could of hit a nerve was made him lose his balance.

Do me a favour I've taken harder hits from a baby than that. There's no nerves that make you clasp your face and fall to the ground like you've been shot a couple of seconds after you get slapped in the side of the face.

Song didn't stamp on him, he trod on him, deliberately. Shouldn't have done it, FA should be taking action. Just like they should be taking action with Barton.

I think Gervinho's reaction is the most understandable of them all. He's been hauled up and shaken around by lunatic, who's accusing him of diving after he's just had a legitimate penalty shout turned down. Deserved the red for the slap though obviously.

Barton's a supposed hard man and yet he starts crying because someone treds on him, then acts like he's been pummelled by the Incredible Hulk after a bit of a love tap.
