floyd__streete ^ Fair point.

I am also looking forward to a load of irrelevant hyperbole about England improving as tournaments go on, as if we've ever beaten the likes of Brazil, Germany or Argentina in knock out tournament football in the last forty-odd years.

When have Argentina and Germany beaten us in tournament football? Penalties don't count, those matches are DRAWS

Brazil in 2002 is a fair comment but they are in no way the kind of enemy that Hitler's gang or that fat cheating w@nker and his crew are

Gus the teenage cow the reaction to england scraping through in the worst group in the tournament as if they were world beaters makes me realise why a hell of a lot of people want them to fcuk up....as much as they are overly negative when they lose/draw so they are overly positive when they hold on against a very average side to win 1-0,.....................................England have been incredibly disappointing and should have sailed through that group rather than rely on last-ditch tackles to sneak through in second place, despite all the jingoistic nonsense being spouted all over the place after such a mediocre performance the truth is that England have been awful....

couldn't 'gree more gus. LOLable wanking over the performance on SSN this morning

I agree Gus. When SSN were interviewing England fans yesterday they were saying "We can go on and win this now". Just LOL. So many fickle people about. We're the worst team ever one minute, then a win against Slovenia, we're World beaters.

Still, at least we got to the finals eh Gus...

Or maybe the news want to interview those kind of people when we've won and less optimistic people when we've lost? Adds further weight to their reporting either way

especially since the best team doesnt always win in this game.

On the contrary, he's simultaneously writing Capello's team talk and tempting fate big time.

Didn't we beat them last time we played them anyway?

Capello's got none of the England V Germany baggage and is the man to get a result out of a tight game. The big problem for England is that they won't fancy penalties whereas Germany happily will so England will be chasing the game more.

If it does go to pens, would be brilliant if JT missed the crucial one.

gttc comes on, posts, makes a few legitimate remarks, (purposely) makes a few that are a bit over the top and you just can't help yourself. brendybrendybrendy, when will you learn? 'Bunch of bitter Celts' - tut tut.

Anyway, I think that England have an excellent chance of beating Germany. Germany's defence looked far from solid yesterday and although they play fluid attacking football, the concerns that fans of the Bundesliga have had over recent months seem truer than ever now - Klose and Podolski scored 5 (?) goals between them last season and one wonders where goals will come from on Sunday. 3-1 for England would not surprise me at all, although such a result would disappoint me greatly.

And Franz Beckenbauer has a history of making bold and (oft') ridiculous statements - there was once a website devoted solely to how wrong his predictions generally are (I can't find it now). Anyway ...

Jackson Corner
2 world wars, 1 world cup Germany beat a 10-man amateur side.

Germany LOST to the bottom team of their group.

Germany just about scraped a win against an arguably superior *Ghana*

---

England are unbeaten and have only let in ONE goal - a total freak.

If we will ever beat Germany THIS IS THE TIME.

COME ON ENGLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I take it this is your first World Cup........ :?

Sadly no which is why I'm putting a positive spin on the inevitable "we can never beat the Krauts" attitude.

10 German Bombers as sang by a load of aggressive chavs isn't banter, it is massively cringeworthy and an embarassment to our country and to the memory of the men who gave up their lives for our freedom.
