That is some serious weather. Surely the pitch will be too wet to continue?

Tony Le Mesmer Apparently a 2-2 draw is the only result that guarantees Spain & Croatia both go through. Still trying to work out how 3-3 doesn't, or how a team can finish above another with same points, a head to head draw and a worse goal diff

Where did you get that from?

If Spain and Croatia draw 2-2, and Italy beat Ireland by 3 goals or more, surely Italy and Spain would go through on GD?

I think it's head to head results so if Spain, Italy and Croatia all have 5, then it's down to results in the games between them, all will be draws, so then goals scored and a 2-2 means Spain 3 Croatia 3 Italy 2.

I'm sure a 3-3 will also have the same outcome.

Oddschecker were quoting 2-2 as the "only" result that guarantees both, but that must be wrong. 3-3, 4-4 etc must be the same.

Head to head between 3 teams doesnt make sense by definition, but it seems the rules state you end up with a mini league between the 3. Them the rules, but very odd and unfair if you ask me. Dont see how you can finish below a team where they dont beat you on points, head to head, goals diff or goals scored.

I guess it's to stop someone going through just because they were lucky enough to get the whipping boys in their last game and absolutely spank them, where otherwise they'd have just seen the game out at a two or three goal lead.

Means we're going to need a result not only against Sweden but also at least a draw against Ukraine in all likelihood.

Happy with this tbh. Expect the French to get at least a draw against Sweden, so beat one of Sweden and Ukraine and draw against the other. We should be capable of going unbeated in the group and we should beat at least one team. If we don't go through, it's because we weren't good enought achieve the minimum we should, which is 5 points.

Sweden giving us no time at all and the pitch seems really small with no space. But some promise that if they do that all game we can still cause some problems with the long ball up to Carroll.

Oh good, Terry's having a bit of a 'mare already. Loose passes, switching off to give Ibrahimavich space and thankfully rescued by Johnson. Oh, and slower than a dead rat.
