Usual predictable finish to a game like this, one side 4 or 5 up at half time you can bet your life they’ll only add 1 or 2 goals in the 2nd half

Vardy confirms he is leaving Leicester. Not a huge surprise really.

38 and on £140k a week.

To be fair, he's their top scorer this season.

Expect to see him at Birmingham next season; obviously not on anything like the same money (how mad was that salary!) but still pretty decent for a 1 or even 2 Year contract.

I'm not sure how close Birmingham are sailing to the FFP black hole but they lost £19m in 2023/24 and I don't think they did much better the season before.

From my reading of it, they used the different structuring of the regs in League 1 to spend £30m on transfers this season so there has to be doubts over their actual spending power next season. It seems their owners' plans hinge on them being able to boost their global media profile.

They could hire Vardy, and Rooney as manager to help with that media profile

And get their wives to do their comms.

Sadly, don’t think even Birmingham would be dumb enough to hire Rooney a 2nd time.

After 947 appearances for Wimbledon/Franchise over the last 20 years or so, Dean Lewington, now 40, has retired following the franchise’s goalless draw with Grimsby yesterday.

Evanilson, sending off all day long. Don’t know who the pillock is on Sky is going on about “he slipped” and shouldn’t be red, it’s still a red card as, whether intended or not, that’s what hit the Utd player and could have broken his leg or worse.

I'd say it's 'red enough'

'Google, what is a 'one club man'?

He's also been caretaker manager three times. Lewington holds the record for the most football league appearances by a player for a single club, which he extended to 790.

Bellingham getting in there is quite ridiculous, as is Josh Brownhill not getting in

Mo Salah now 5th all-time on his own with 185 PL goals, two behind Andy Cole, and 28 behind Harry Kane in second.

Salah the only real current interest on the all-time goals charts. Vardy (143) is done. Son (127) and Sterling (123) past their best. No other current PL player has more than 100 goals.

Correct, Vardy is being linked with a move to Parky’s Hollywood next season

If Haaland stays at Man City, he will get close to Shearers record. He is currently on 84 goals in 94 games, 0.89 goals per game.

By contrast, Salah is on 185 in 297 games (includes 2 goals in 13 games for Chelsea) an average of 0.62 goals per game.

Shearer scored 260 in 441; 0.59 goals per game.

Yeah, Haaland the outlier. Kane got 0.65 goals per game, Aguero 0.67.

I'd be amazed though if Haaland stays at City long enough to break the record. He'd have to play another 200 games, so six seasons, just to get there at his current rate of scoring.
