Perfect example of where leaving the flag down when someone is offside risks someone getting injured

This Liverpool game has the feel of a pre season friendly to it. Like it could be any crazy scoreline.

He’ll get away with it. Cnuts like him always do.

All the injury problems he’s had is beautiful karma. Another ACL wouldn’t go amiss

Horrible individual who should have been done for assault

This. Wasn’t even close, you could even see with Elanga’s body language that he knew he was offside as the pass was too delayed

Coupled with an odd decision to make their final sub window just after the event

Strange all around!

No they wouldn't. They'd give them a good send off, then revel in their future success or failure.

Yes, really don’t get it, if a Lino thinks a player is offside then flag, otherwise it’s just an accident waiting to happen - can you imagine the uproar if a flag is kept down and Saka/Salah/Haaland or someone goes through from an offside position and there’s collision with a keeper that sees their knee totally knackered?

when the Forest matey went crashing into the goal post yesterday after he was clearly offside and the game was allowed to continue on for a bit, I honestly thought 'here we go, tomorrows sports headline has been written' as I assumed this was going to be a big deal. surprised its not been tbh

No real idea on the previous up there about what’s gone on before with Trent and the fans but some are obviously upset with the manner in which he has chosen to leave while I’m also sure there’s plenty who have the opposite view. To be honest they’re all entitled to an opinion and unless you are a Liverpool fan from Merseyside you can’t really know so just let them get on with it. It’s nothing to do with us.

We really have been robbed of an all-time relegation battle by the utter shitness of the bottom three.

Again, players have left Liverpool before, I don't think that is the problem here. He wants to go, fine. But as I've mentioned before, there is a list as long as your arm of players who wanted to move on but have signed new deals to ensure that their club gets a sizeable fee for them. TAA has, it appears, been negotiating with Real for some time and to have engineered this situation to his own benefit, saving Real a transfer fee, and if as reported, securing himself a big signing bonus. All the while barely giving a single interview during a title winning season when you are vice captain of your boyhood club.

Again mentioned it before, but when Haaland goes to Real Madrid (his Dad has already signposted it), City will get well north of £100m for him thanks to his long contract.

Booing has never been my thing, but I get why it happens. Think about how Pardew acted with regards to his move to West Ham. It's the behaviour that grates, not that Pardew wanted to manage one of England's bigger clubs.

RM rarely spend big money on transfer fees, largely they seem reliant on getting their targets to run down their contracts and get them for nothing. If TAA was still contracted Madrid wouldn’t be that interested. The stick he’ll get over there as, let’s face it, he’s not a very good right back, is probably going to be something else. He’s possibly seen more as a Toni Kroos replacement than for Carvajal anyway.

Anyone see Orient’s opener v Stockport? Strengthens the argument for professionally skilled officials to referee games.

They may still end up paying something for TAA if they want him for the Club World Cup as the transfer window opens for a few days but he will still be under contract. Peanuts compared to what he would cost if under a long term deal of course.

Possibly, there is talk of Rodrygo moving to the ‘pool so there maybe some give and take to be had there.

I actually question if the 2nd Orient player touches it - from the initial looping header, if he was off then it was tight - so if the linesman is not certain that the 2nd Orient player touched it (and the ball didn't deviate from its path) then he made the right decision keeping his flag down.

Yep, just been looking at some of their forums and the general issues doesn't seem to be that he's leaving, but the way he's done it - intentionally running his contract down without either committing or saying he's definitely going, which will cost the club a hefty transfer fee.
