URZZZZ
NathStPaul Will be interesting to see who they'd go for next. Would think it would be the sort of job Frank Lampard would be interested in.

Think if they were to go down that route, they’d get JT back

Although not sure if there were any reasons behind his departure from there in the summer

Can only think he wanted to be available for a managers job, if you believe the press he was in for a couple of jobs which didn't pan out. Bournemouth and Fulham were mentioned.

Think Villa would be a huge task for a first job. What about a John Terry/Frank Lampard dream team?

Cracking little factoid this. Pochettino, Mourinho, Nuno and Conte have all been given contracts to manage Spurs until 2023.

They finally get the right man then - Conte will be a terrific appointment for them.

This is true, but if Conte does not bring success then there is no hope.

If Conte's arrival brings a new way of working for Spurs then I can see them being very successful going forward. I cannot imagine he will be working under the same budget constraints his predecessors were, could also see Levy stepping back from controlling the transfers. Their sporting director is a friend of Conte's which must have been crucial to getting him to agree to going to Spurs. Those two together without Levy breathing down their neck can only be a good thing.

NathStPaul I think Xavi will end up there eventually.

They have to get rid of as much deadweight as possible and start again building on their excellent youth players, they'll be back up the top of the league within a season or two.

Looks to be a done deal.

Only logical appointment really. They needed to get someone in who is respected by the supporters and who'd get time to build. It was Xavi or Lineker.

I expect he would be interested but would they be interested in him?
Villa is a big club ( past European Cup winners) that has dropped away a bit in recent years but looks to be on the way back up so Lampard might not be considered.

Mind you, in the strange world of football where Eddie Howe gets to manage what will become one of the biggest clubs in the country, by virtue of the level of investment, who knows who Villa would go for?

Said it for a while now but they simply have to weed out the wasters in the squad

Got rid of Danny Rose in the summer for starters but still plenty more. If Conte can stamp his authority on the team and build it in a different way, there’s hope. Otherwise it’ll be the same problems they’ve had for three years now

ok, my expectation for the next three-five years.:

they will finish around about sixth, win some great matches, lose to Brentford and Brighton etc and maybe win a League Cup.

And lose Kane at the end of this season/in the transfer window to a bigger club.

Will Conte even manage to match Spurs' greatest achievement of recent times? ie being the top PL point getters over a 3 year stretch?

A manager who has been in charge of over 1600 games deserves a bit more respect than being called a stupid nickname.
