Old Fergie's already been on the Champers "Phil Jones could go on to be our best player ever".

They don't have to do it though, do they?

Like Brum never did it to us last season....

Gotta admire Fergie's genius

Finishes second>>buys the best player in the league for whatever it costs>>finishes first

He just has a knack of unearthing these players who have slipped under other club's radars such as Van Persie, Rooney and Ferdinand and picking them up for a snip.

LOL at you. Other teams and managers spend a great deal more than him, and he delivers success year after year after year. The man is the best manager the world's ever seen, and little snipes at him just expose the jealousy that's so obviously raging within you.

Greatest one club manager? Definitely. Greatest ever? In terms of Trophies won, definitely. Depends how you measure it though. Someone like Rinus Michels revolutionised the way people thought about the game and his ideas are the basis of the Barcelona side we see today, Saachi was another who was very innovative, Happel and Clough took unfashionable clubs to win the European cup. Zagallo? Building the greatest international team ever to win the World Cup is not to be sniffed at.

Even some of Fergie's contemporaries like Del Bosque who has won the Champions League (twice), World Cup and European Championship. People in England will scoff but Capello has won Serie A with two (three depending on if you count the ones won with Juventus) different clubs and the Champions League. What if Mourinho wins the CL this year that's three different clubs in three different countries, League titles in every country he's been to and the domestic cup competitions as well. Winning Real Madrid's 10th European Cup would be an immense achievement.

As for the under the radar thing tbh I did think the same when the commentator was talking about how "many people questioned the fee given the age of Van Persie" and " People doubted whether it would come off". A signing like Solskjaer was a masterstroke not sure you can say the same about signing one of the best strikers in the World.

TheMaraudingDog
Mr Angry At the start of the season, there were those saying the De Gea looked a bit dodgy, and the usual Fergie apologists came on and said no, he was going to be brilliant......frankly, he has had half a season and looks like a skinny Simon Sheppard; his inability to deal with a basic high ball into the box isn't something that he is going to correct any day soon (he should be shown the video of our game yesterday as both Feds and the Ipswich keeper could teach him how to catch a high ball) and having a dodgy keeper is a disaster for a top 4 club (look at Arsenal since Lehman left).

And that is down - not to the Glazers (another knee jerk response by Fergie apologists whenever United lose) but to Fergie himself; why didn't he try and get the German keeper now at Bayern Munich?

AbovetheI Rooney set to leave too?

Watched a few Utd games this season and he hasn't performed that well. His first touch has become shocking (got to
be a mental thing). Obv he's someone you want on the field as he has a lot to offer and often turns it on but he has
been very inconsistent (rel to his high standards)

Yes - you just get the sense that he's not as important to them now as he was a few years ago, and so the time would be right to move on.
