Too many new players being thrown in together maybe.

Last year they all seemed to be operating telepathically at times - just not quite working yet.

Wirtz is too good a player not to come good in the way one would expect, but maybe he should have been integrated into the starting 11 a little more gradually.

I was amazed to hear before Arsenal beat Newcastle at the weekend that they were into favourites for the PL. Maybe it's making a bit more sense now, although personally I am very sceptical that Arteta has it in him to win the thing.

South Coast Royal So, as of now top of the Premier League.
Through to the next round of the Carabao Cup
A win in the Champs League against the team that thrashed Real Madrid 5-2 last weekend.
The two defeats have only been by the odd goal.

Hardly cause for great concern to Liverpool fans and so many clubs would love to be in their position.
In Arne we trust.

I've not seen all the performances, but the ones I have, you have been terrible at the back. Konate needs some time on the bench.

To me (as an outsider), it seems Slot wants to stamp more of his personality/authority/whatevs onto the team rather than sticking with what was working. Is Szbozlai (sp?) playing right back to try and replicate what Trent offered in terms of delivery? Other than that, I'm not sure why he doesn't trust the two RBs he has. Should he not be back in the really good (vomit) MF that did so well last season?

Difficult to judge which way it's going. Are you gonna click and start absolutely battering teams, or is the luck* gonna run out? I'm well aware that LFC players have the mentality to make their own luck. I could make a case that UTD should be doing better which they may have done if they had a similar mentality/whatevs

- deserved at least a point against Arsenal,
- should have beaten Fulham, could have been 3 up before they scored
- been more comfortable against Burnley
- Brentford; Bruno scores a pen, and they get the player sent of,f then maybe a win
- City, deserved beating
- Grimsby :?

Silver Fox 1st league title for 30 (?) years

No doubt you'll be pretty pleased with whoever is the first to win one at OT one day, if you live to see it

How did LFC manage the transitions back in the day, SCR? I'm vaguely aware of the 'boot room' culture, but not too sure what it actually is

I just saw this, which highlights that your performances haven't been great. It will be intriguing to see how it turns out.

Basically promoting from within and people with long associations with the club who understand and were instrumental in establishing the culture. In other words, continuity.

Liverpool Managers 1959 to 1998

Bill Shankly 59-74

Bob Paisley 74-83 played for the club 1939-1954 and was Shankly's assistant manager

Joe Fagan 83-85 - Scouser. Coach under Shankly and was Paisley's assistant manager, Quit after Heysel.

Dalglish 85-91 played for Paisley and Fagan

Ronnie Moran - 2 caretaker spells - Scouser. played for Shankly, coached under Shankly, Paisley, Fagan and Dalglish

Graeme Souness - 91_94 played for Paisley and Fagan

Roy Evans 94-98 - Scouser. Played for Shankly, coached under Paisley, Fagan, Dalglish, Moran and Souness.

It helps that up to and including Dalglish, they were all decent managers. Only Souness was an external appointment but obviously he played for the club for 6 years and won 12 major trophies in the process.

Cheers, I had the basics but that fills in the gaps
