It's a breach of sponsorship guidelines. Nike/Ladbrokes etc. don't pay big money to then have rivals getting a free plug.

I understand that but surely anyone can sponsor a player?!

What are the chances of that happening?

I think it has to be ratified. You can't just turn up to a Tesco sponsored event with Waitrose tatooed across your forehead etc. etc. And football club/team and event seem partial to having a say in who or what it endorses.

I'm sure Hodgson like a good cigar but I'm certain he'd get a hoofing if he wore his Hamlet Stetson.

southbank1871 We came from behind to win against Croatia in 2004, but I can't think of any others. We usually score first and go onto lose.

Phenominally bad record to have scored first in 15 games and won only 7, quoted (I've updated) during the Sweden match. I think that may only be the Euro record.

Im guessing the Spanish national anthem doesn't have any words and it's just "la la la la lo lo la"

Two thoughts about the Ireland team - from a certain angle Aiden McGeady looks like Christopher Walken, and Robbie Keane can't sing to save his life.

If we didn't already the team selection proves that Trap really doesn't rate Shane Long

I agree with Roy Keane that he should have changed the whole team - nothing to lose

Disagree. He has to play what he considers to be the best team available. Playing 11 guys who have never played together against Italy would just be a disaster and would also be showing the tournament a large dollop of disrespect.

And Roy Keane is a cünt who based on his past, as Trap rightly pointed out, is not in much of a position to be pointing out what the trainer of a team should be doing.

Ok but he should have at least given some others a run out to gain experience. McClean being one, Westwood another

Making one or two changes would have been fine - I agree with that.

Ireland holding their own so far and finding plenty of space on the counter-attack.

I would probably have played McClean in all three games as I'd consider him the best winger Ireland have now.

I'm setting myself up here but I've never really rated McGeady and Duff is past his best. Cue goals from both of them.
