Not a surprise, re Mbappe. The question is though, surely he already realised that PSG is a soulless and pointless club in the summer, when he signed his new deal?

His tantrum is interestingly timed as Neymar & Messi have had great starts to the season and are completely overshadowing him

Convenient millions more € than he thought he'd get blindness.

Rumour in Marca, from the journalist who broke the story is that Mbappe actually asked to leave in July. PSG allegedly said they would accept €400m Euros but they wouldnt let him join Real.

There is still plenty of time for them to negotiate a new contract before that. If City win the CL either this year or next, alongside the inevitable league title in that time, I could see them renewing his contract that might not include a release clause similar to that above or a clause that is probably closer to £250m at least, particularly if Mbappe moves in the upcoming windows for the fees being reported there.

Leeds have been ordered to pay RB Leipzig €21M for taking Jean-Kevin Augustin on loan 2 1/2 years ago

They took him on a 6 month loan with an obligation to purchase for that amount if they got promoted. Its standard for contracts here to have these kind of clauses with a 30th June date on ("if Leeds are promoted by 30/06/20 you must pay"...blah blah blah) as that is after the season finishes. As it was the first covid season it meant the season finished later than expected and so Leeds got promoted after the date of 30th June. They have used that as an excuse not to pay for the player, who played for them 3 times and then got loaned out elsewhere

he becomes their 8th most expensive ever signing

lol

Lol indeed.

I seem to remember loads of Leeds fans crowing that he was going to be the next big thing.

Real Madrid sign Endrick for €35m basic plus €25m in potential add ons. They are also paying the tax that Palmeiras would owe which is 15% of the deal.

He stays in Brazil until summer 24 as he is not old enough to transfer until then according to FIFA rules

Same setup as the Vinicius Jr transfer.

Real have a bit of a monopoly on young talent at the moment. Surely they won't get Bellingham too?

Oddest career stats to date. 2021 - 18 league appearances, no goals. 2022 - 24 league appearances, 15 goals.

yeah they clearly have a big focus in the last few years in taking a punt on buying up some of the most promising 16-18 year olds.

I feel the jury is still out on Rodrygo. up until the CL Semi (i think that was the one) where he came on and scored to win it, there were a lot of questions around him as he seemed to just be a sub who came on late and didn't impact games. Maybe that game is going to be a big moment for him though

I get they’re a massive club but, all the same, where does the money keep coming from for the never ending wages and grossly inflated transfer fees they seem able to pay season after season?

Jack Butland agrees to swap Palace's bench for United's bench, on loan.

Butland the keeper that never was - looked to all the world as a youngster like a keeper who would win 80 England caps, but he has completed only one full season in the Premier League as first-choice (15-16, at Stoke). He's still not 30 years old, made his England debut at 19.

Same as McCarthy imo
