Sanguine Looks like Liverpool's pursuit of Bellingham has ended in a whimper. Likely fee around £135m has put them off. And it's a lot of money. See how the summer plays out I guess - the guy idolises Gerrard and is best mates with Henderson, but looks like money will talk, again. So where does he go? Real? He won't play every week. PSG? Surely not. Chelsea? They've spent £100m on Enzo to do the same job. City? Please, not City. Maybe United, who with Liverpool are a side who need a Bellingham.

Maybe most likely now he stays at Dortmund another year - he certainly doesn't seem unhappy there.

Think he either stays at Dortmund or goes to Utd.

Will be some changes as Real Madrid this summer. Ancelotti expected to move on. Kroos and/or Modric may not remain, so could be a place for Bellingham.

How much will the stadium development hinder their transfer spending? It also sounds like they will leave the attack as it is for next season before 'Project Mbappe' starts up again for summer 2024

Real are also clever in how they sell/loan players to get more money. Brahim Diaz expected to transfer to either AM Milan or somewhere else this summer for €30M+. They hold 50% rights for Kubo at Real Sociedad and agreed a €60M buy out clause in his contract there too.

Bellingham to Man City has to be a shoe-in surely - literally put the other clubs 5 years behind them if they make that signing with the players they have available to him.

Likes of Phillips / Cancello they can offload to balance the books!

Deary me. Fabrizio Romano reporting that Bellingham to Real Madrid is essentially a done deal, with personal terms agreed with the player, and the fee a formality.

In Bellingham, Camavinga and Tchouameni, Real will arguably have all three of the best young midfielders in the world. And Valverde. And Modric if he plays another season.

If they get M'bappe as well, everyone else in Europe might as well pack up and go home.

Huge shame. He is still a very young man and could have played a few seasons in the Premier League before going to Madrid, would have liked to have seen him at United personally.

Indeed. No shock I'd have liked to have seen him at Liverpool. I've posted at length on this topic before, but it continues to feel like 'all roads lead to Real/City/PSG'. Money, money, money.

It's only football m8.

Far bigger shames going on in the world to worry about than Jude Bellingham moving to a football club whose matches you can see on TV anyway.

Ah, the 'kids are dying of malnourishment so you can't have an opinion on football' argument.

Usual sensible Liverpool practice of never going for it. Could have got Haaland but went for Nunez  now they've pulled out of the Bellingham race and will possibly switch attention to Mason Mount. As usual then, a close but no cigar season for the once mighty reds. So much for that new investment/club sale but then they can't even make their minds up over that . **** yanks!

I'm not sure Haaland ever wanted to join Liverpool.

Various reports say that a move for Alexis Mac Allister is nearing completion. I can understand the view that if the whole midfield needs replacing then spending €120m on Bellingham when you have a limited budget isn't sensible. Mac Allister, Mount (which also looks likely) and a Caicedo or Nunes is probably better for the team than Bellingham slotting in next to Henderson and Curtis Jones, as much as Bellingham is clearly a generational talent.

My good m8 Germán García Grova tells me "Agreement between @LFC & Mac Allister now VERY CLOSE. Deal until winter 2028. Alexis wants to be coached by Klopp. At the moment #LFC the only official club in talks. Fee: £80M+ including bonuses & objectives"
