Blakey's Right Peg

Please give up mate. Please.

Only been having a bit of banter so to speak. On a serious note i happen to know someone who is very close to someone at the club and the other day i had a message saying Rhodes would be staying at the club for one more season. Who knows what the outcome will be, normally the players agents get into their heads and change everything. Rhodes is a great guy and you can tell his father who used to be a goalkeeper has brought him up in a proper manner and is used to dealing with the media and pressure of being a professional footballer.
If you get him i am sure he will carry on and score goals, he just has that knack of being in the right place and is very good with both feet and in the air. Of course i hope he will stay with us but as some of your posters say, money talks and we as a club could not stand in his way if the right move comes along. As i said in my first post good luck for next season and wish all you fans all the best..

Rhodes will be off the moment one of the top end championship clubs submit a bid that matches the ridiculous asking price. I reckon he'll be Blackburn-bound now that Venkys are splashing the cash.

Huddersfield are a complete joke of a club - you sacked an up and coming manager despite consistent playoff finishes and a phenomenal record and were happy about it!

Not utterly convinced about Rhodes - although he's young and highly-rated he's playing in a shoddy league. Would definitely be a gamble if Reading signed him and it'd be hard for him to push for a start ahead of Roberts, Pog and Alf. You could play Church in that league and he'd easily get 15+ a season tbf.

Can't see Rhodes joining another Championship club...his loyalties to HTFC appear too strong for him to turn out against them ...but agree about whether Rhodes can make the jump from Div 1 to Premiership...if he was going for a realistic price then maybe worth a punt...but definitely not at the stupid prices the HTFC chairman is supposedly looking for....

Dear Terrier58

I do hope this correspondence finds you in good health.

It would seem that the betting establishments in this fair area must have been listening to 'Some girl on Twitter' as well because, as of approximately 09.15hrs on the above date Reading FC were 1/4 (1.25 decimal) to sign your Mr Rhodes - the closest rivals to this being that ancient East London club affectionately known as Wet Spam who were 8/1. (9.0 decimal)

Wishing you and your club well for the future.

Yours in Sincerity

D.Bollox (Mr)

we have 3 stars on our clubs shirt..

Its not the stars on the shirts it the starts in the shirts that makes the difference and your 1 star in your shirt will soon be a star in someone elses shirt.

BTW América de Cali in the Colombian league have 13 stars I take it that makes em 10 times better than Huddersfield? To be fair the fact that they are not from backward yorkshire makes them better than Huddersfield

Those odds have been the same on the Betvictor site for the last few weeks ...no movement at all and based on baseless rumour and conjecture ...the very same site that had West Sham heavily odds on favourites to sign Holt....

And those odds assume that Rhodes is moving whereas it is quite possible that he will bottle it and stay with the Terriers.

Leave terrier58 alone. It's become quite apparent that either (s)he's a child or (s)he's educationally sub-normal. As a result anyone being sarcastic or rude at him is a cyber bully picking on the disadvantaged person unable to look after himself / herself.

Is it me of does the quoted wiki fail to list the Simod cup in our honours? Outrageous, someone correct that!

I had no idea Huddersfield had ever won the top flight... when was the last time they were in it? Must be pre-Premier League surely? Must be gutting to their fans that we've been so much better than them for at least the last 10 years given their amazing history of success back in the drak ages of football.

I don't think we'll get Rhodes just because we want him if that's the case. We'll not be held to ransom. Huddersfield are much more likely to be held to ransom by him to leave than we are to pay over what we think he's worth. I'm not even that fussed about him with Pog, Roberts, Hunt and ALF.

Feel sorry for terrier58... (s)he obviously has a bit of a crush on Rhodes and is going to be bitterly disappointed by him sooner or later when he leaves for greener pastures than what I can only assume must be an utterly shit Huddersfield side - given their past glories, of course.

I can imagine whoever it is throwing a hissy fit that there number one is off to a "small club" in some place outside London, instead of that massive giant (who of course has been having a bit of bad luck of late) known as 'Uddersfield

I am not sure we class 85 years since the last division one title as 'a bit of bad luck'.. I am thinking its more a total lack of forward thinking... How can a team win the league three years on the bounce and then do nothing for 85. Who was football director in 1927? You can imagine the close season board meeting - (quote) "Mr Chairman Whippet.. I have a plan.. Up here us as Uddersfield we have been going well, wit 3 pots in 3 years... However in order to dominate football in't world, we need to dismantle t'side and play 'mill team for the next 85 years... That is what i see as our 'Rhode(s)' to gloree.." Chairman whippet replies "aye lad..that's waaay... Lets get down dogs..."

As a statement of success from our terrier its almost embarrasing.. Is there anyone alive in 'Uddersfield' who actually remembers 1926? Surely 'wit dust from mills' they all went years ago...
