Wenger trouble?

by Alexander Litvinenko » 09 Oct 2012 16:47

Hearing rumours that it may all come crashing down for Arsene - in the way it didn't quite for 'Arry.

Very serious questions are being asked about two transfers - Park Chung-young from AS Monaco and Amaury Bischoff from Werder Bremen and the finances of these.

Wow, would be amazed if there was anything in this, he's always seemed of such integrity.

^That's not sarcastic btw.

Surprising if true, but I can't think of a better explanation for the signing of Park.

Are you sure? This is the man who refused to buy English players. Plus he has been in trouble with the FA many times.

Integrity, my arse.

That may be so, but there was a long period between Jeffers and Walcott when Wenger just plain refused to buy any English players. And anyway, once he bought those players, with the exception of Sol Campbell, he rarely ever played those players, selling them almost straightaway.

He has a preference for French grown players.

To be fair, they are better aren't they? Zidane, Henry, Pires, Viera, Thuram - not many English players of that quality over the same period, and Wenger made three of them.

The Jeffers part of that explains why there was a gap between buying English players.

Also hearing that Wenger had €150,000 in cash stolen from his hotel room in Cape Town during the 2010 World Cup, where he was working as a commentator for French TV and doing promotional work for WC sponsors Castrol. But he didn't report the robbery to the police for some reason .......

I heard he had two apples for breakfast and cut them with a knife at the 2010 world cup. Now that actually happened.
