It's an homage to our 1966 training kits.

Anyone who finds this genuinely annoying/offensive/troubling should be locked in a small cupboard, forever.

Dear me. Of all the 'rows' this 'kit row' is one of the most pathetic I think I've ever read about.

It doesn't bother me but I think it is a dumb thing to do in general. Just leave the flag as it is, don't invite negative attention or uproar.

It doesn't invite those things at all, in normal people.

It stirs up hatred in homophobes, racists, mysoginists (see Joey Barton's post on the matter) - that's for them to bother about.

No-one cared when the union jack was repurposed all blue for the 2012 Olympic kits.

The home kit is almost identical to the kit we wore in 1986. But, the collar. OMG. The disgrace of it. Boycott Nike. Deary me.

Reckon most people who care only care because their social media feed has told them to care.

Quite.. as many have pointed out, no-one seemed bothered by the 2011 kit, or the many other times the SGC has been altered in kits.

Sunak has now chosen to wade it on the argument as well, just to make sure the racists are all on board

Guess some England fans are proud of the country and the St George cross and don't want to see the FA and Nike muck about with it, and there's nothing wrong with that. Let them take the argument to the FA to make it clear what they think so next time the FA/Nike come up with a "playful idea" they might think twice. Imagine if Nike had gone to the French or German FA with a "playful" idea for the French or German flags on their shirts.

Would have said the ******* ridiculous price for the shirt is what is actually most offensive and will hopefully see this shirt record neglible sales when compared to previous shirts.

+1 to all this. And as someone posted on Twitter earlier this morning - various fans groups change the colour of the cross when they put the club's name across the England flag, pictures shown on the Tweet were a blue England cross with Coventry and Chester fans, and a green cross from a Yeovil supporters group. Didn't see much of a fuss about them

You can be proud of your country and national team without losing your shit because the colours of a cross, changed to match an England training kit from 1966, feature on LGBT emblems.

its all bollocks anyway..............from the BBC

"Ed Cowburn, who designs football kits for a living, told the Today programme that the St George's Cross only became a regular feature of the England kit from the early 2000s.

"The St George's Cross has probably only appeared on about six kits as a distinct graphic element," he said."

So Joe the Stirling Taxi driver can stick it up his fat moronic arsehole.

Nike referred to it as "Playful".

Looking forward to them being "playful" with all the other international shirts they produce.

Enjoy!

Didn't realise it was so many! Think this is all a distraction over the real offensive thing about the shirt which is the utterly reprehensible pricing.
